Four Friends, One Gluttonous Fate
·
Published 2/24/2023When four courageous teenage friends--Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long-- invite a mysterious creature with unimaginable power into their lives, never could they have fathomed the dire consequences--morbid obesity and a stark confrontation of their mortality--that would ensue as they valiantly strive to subdue their uncontrolled bodies in a bid to save their friendship.
"This is going to be fucking EPIC!"
Ruby and Weiss were standing on the corner of their street. It had been a hard day at school, but they were excited to be meeting up with their friends later that evening. It was just in time too -- they could really use the distraction after getting back from work.
Weiss, Ruby's best friend, was a tall blonde girl who was never without her signature white gloves. Her eyes were icy blue, and her hair fell down to her waist. She was always neatly dressed and well put together. Weiss was classy and elegant. She liked art and history, and she wrote poems in her spare time. She had a soft voice, but she knew when to speak up. She would often reprimand Ruby for being reckless or illogical about something. This usually lead to an argument between the two, but it was all in good fun! They loved each other like sisters.
"I know!" Ruby replied excitedly as she let out a giggle. "I can't wait until Yang gets here! We're gonna have so much fun tonight!"
It was summer in Vale City, and it was hot outside nearly 24/7. The sun set at around 9PM, but the temperature didn't change much during the evening hours except for some light breezes that would sometimes pass through if there were any clouds in the sky. But today was different than most days -- there were storm clouds on the horizon that looked like they were going to make landfall soon.
"I'm just glad we don't have anything planned," Weiss said as she glanced at her phone to check the time again. She then looked up at Ruby and added, "You know how Yang gets when she drinks."
"Oh yeah," Ruby said as she started thinking back to all the interactions she had with Yang while drunk. "She always turns into this huge troublemaker! I can't believe our parents let us go out drinking on weeknights... Just wait till we get home though! We'll be having some fun!" Ruby picked up her pace as she sprinted towards home with Weiss running after her. When they got inside, everyone else still wasn't back yet from wherever they had gone out for dinner earlier. But that didn't matter -- Ruby checked the fridge to see if there was anything left over from dinner that could last them until their friends got home: There wasn't much left except for some carrot sticks, so she started eating those while pacing around the house waiting for everyone else to get back. After what felt like forever but was only about 20 minutes later (Ruby had been keeping track of the time), their doorbell rang loud enough to be heard throughout most of the first floor of their house: it was someone using their fists on the door instead of actually pressing the button on their doorknob! Everyone knew it was Yang because no one else would act so aggressively towards their front door except for her little sister sometimes.
Yang walked inside looking like a mess: Her hair was even more unkempt than normal (which is saying something), and her shirt was untied with some buttons missing off of it! And what looked like sauce stains covered part of her shirt and neckline... Not that Ruby minded too much though -- Yang would often wear less clothes than usual when she got drunk due to an increased lack of modesty and self-consciousness when under the influence of alcohol! "Hey Rubes!" Yang shouted out with drunken slurred words as she opened up a bag full of drinks and snacks before sitting down on the couch next to Ruby while putting her feet up on the coffee table while grabbing one of many cans out of the bag before cracking open its tab and taking a sip -- it only took a few seconds before she finished half of it! Even though it looked like she would finish it off in another few sips or so, she put down the can long before finishing it off -- which meant there would be plenty left for everyone else! "So are you ready to get wasted?" Yang asked with a smile as she sat down on Ruby's couch before putting herself comfortably between both sides of Ruby's body with her arms wrapped around Ruby's body from behind her waist as far as possible; Weiss walked over towards them with an exasperated look on her face before sitting down next to Yang's legs propping herself up by resting against them while crossing one leg over another while leaning backwards slightly onto Yang's thigh while looking at them both sideways with a look halfway between disgust and amazement before muttering under her breath, "Oh god..." Suddenly feeling very uneasy at how close they were sitting together while wondering why none of them moved away from each other even though they should've closed more distance between each other so they could lay down together without being so uncomfortable, especially since they hadn't done anything related to intimacy together besides giving kisses on cheeks or hands or hugs... But almost instinctively realizing that there wasn't anywhere else where they could fit in this entire room unless they wanted to sit somewhere else instead... So after letting out a sigh from resignation, Weiss started eating snacks from one of several bags in front of them until suddenly realizing what time it already was: "Oh no! We're supposed to be meeting Ren and Nora soon!", quickly getting up from where she had been sitting before rushing over towards where Nora (one of Nora's roommates) lived only about 10 minutes away from where everyone else lived since everyone else lived either in their parent's house or apartment building within walking distance from each other's houses... Except for Nora who lived by herself further away from everyone else since rent prices were cheaper further away from urban centers... She also ended up picking a roommate who happened to be someone close to her heart instead of someone who might have brought better financial stability into their household -- which is okay since neither Nora nor Ren made enough money working part-time jobs at local restaurants nearby where they lived anyway... And besides, Ren didn't mind not having lots of extra money since he hardly ever spent his own money anyway; he usually just used whatever money he earned whenever he worked odd jobs here and there (such as mowing lawns or helping people move house) into buying stuff needed around his apartment or helping Nora buy whatever supplies she needed whenever doing artsy things...
