Dama wiped the sweat from his brow as he scrubbed the car in front of him. The hot sun beat down on him, making him feel like he was melting into the pavement. He sighed and glanced at his watch. Only two more hours to go.

"Hey, Dama!"

Dama turned to see his friend Mouki jogging towards him, a wide grin on his face.

"Dama, my friend! How are you today?"

Dama smiled wearily. "I'm surviving, Mouki. Just trying to get through another day."

Mouki nodded sympathetically. "I know how you feel, my friend. The sun is relentless today."

Dama chuckled. "Tell me about it. I don't know how much longer I can take this heat."

Mouki's smile faded slightly as he looked at Dama seriously.

"Dama, my friend, can I talk to you about something?"

Dama nodded and set the sponge down on the ground.

"Of course, Mouki. What's on your mind?"

Mouki glanced around nervously before leaning in closer to Dama.

"I've been thinking... We can't keep doing this forever, my friend. We work so hard for our families and barely make enough to survive."

Dama frowned and crossed his arms over his chest.

"What are you saying, Mouki? This is all we know how to do. How else are we supposed to support our families?"

Mouki shrugged and looked down at the ground.

"I don't have all the answers, my friend. But I think there has to be a better way than this."

Dama sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"I don't know, Mouki... It's risky trying something new. And what if it doesn't work? Then what?"

Mouki placed a hand on Dama's shoulder and looked him in the eye.

"I believe in you, Dama. You are smart and talented. I know you can do anything you set your mind to."

Dama smiled gratefully at his friend.

"Thank you, Mouki. That means a lot to me. I'll think about what you said."

Mouki nodded and patted Dama on the back.

"Good. Let me know if you need any help, my friend. We're all in this together."

Dama watched as Mouki jogged back to his own car-washing station. He couldn't help but feel a spark of hope ignite within him. Maybe there was a better way to provide for his family.

As the day wore on, Dama's mind was filled with thoughts of what could be. By the time he finished work and headed home, he had made up his mind.

"Dad," Dama said as he walked through the front door of their small house, "can we talk?"

Dama's father looked up from where he was sitting at the kitchen table, reading the newspaper.

"Of course, son. What's on your mind?"

Dama took a deep breath and sat down across from his father.

"I've been thinking... What if there was another way for me to support our family? A better way."

Dama's father raised an eyebrow and folded the newspaper in front of him.

"What do you mean, son? This is all we've ever known."

Dama nodded and looked down at his hands.

"I know, Dad. But it's so hard... And I don't want my children to have to go through what we've been through."

Dama's father sighed and reached out to place a hand on Dama's shoulder.

"I understand how you feel, son. But life is hard, no matter what path you choose. Are you sure this is what you want?"

Dama looked up at his father, determination shining in his eyes.

"Yes, Dad. I'm sure. I want to try something different, something better."

Dama's father smiled proudly and squeezed his son's shoulder.

"Then I am behind you one hundred percent, son. Whatever you decide to do, I know you will succeed."

Dama grinned and hugged his father tightly.

"Thank you, Dad. That means the world to me."

And with that, Dama set out on a new path, determined to find a better way to support his family.
