Pepper had warned him that he was pushing the limits of his suit's capabilities. But Tony Stark, ever the risk-taker, hadn't listened. And now, as he lay on the ground, surrounded by the wreckage of his Iron Man suit, he realized just how big a mistake he had made.

His arc reactor was damaged, its power source drained. He reached out a hand to try and summon one of his spare suits from the garage, but nothing happened. He was powerless.

"Jarvis," he croaked into the comms unit in his ear. "What's my status?"

"I'm sorry, sir," came the emotionless reply. "Your arc reactor has been severely damaged and is no longer functioning. Your suit is also beyond repair."

Tony let out a frustrated sigh and pushed himself up off the ground. He needed to get back to the lab and figure out a way to fix this.

As he stumbled back towards the house, he noticed movement out of the corner of his eye. A group of armed men was making their way towards him.

"Oh great," Tony muttered under his breath. "Just what I need."

He tried to activate some kind of defensive mechanism, but without power in his suit, there was nothing he could do.

The men closed in around him, their guns trained on his chest.

"Well well," said their leader with a smirk. "If it isn't Tony Stark himself."

Tony looked up at them defiantly. "You're going to regret this," he said.

The leader laughed and raised his gun. But before he could pull the trigger, there was a loud explosion from behind them.

Tony turned to see a woman standing there with smoke swirling around her feet.

"Need some help?" she asked with a wry smile.

"Who are you?" Tony asked as she took out several more of the armed men with some kind of electrified glove.

"I'm Dr. Jane Foster," she replied. "And I specialize in unconventional gadgets."

Tony watched in awe as she effortlessly dispatched his attackers.

"Come on," she said, grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the house. "We need to get you somewhere safe."

They made their way down to the lab, where Tony collapsed into a chair.

"So," he said, trying to catch his breath. "You're a scientist?"

Jane nodded. "A physicist, actually. But I dabble in engineering too."

"I could use your help," Tony said with a grin. "I seem to be in a bit of a pickle here."

Jane laughed and started rummaging through the shelves of tools and equipment.

"Don't worry," she said. "I've got just the thing to get you out of this mess."

Over the next few hours, Tony and Jane worked together to come up with a plan.

"We need to find another power source for your suit," Jane explained, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Something that's readily available and doesn't require any fancy technology."

Tony raised an eyebrow at her. "Good luck with that," he said skeptically.

But Jane was undeterred. She grabbed a handful of random objects from the shelves and started tinkering with them.

"Trust me," she said with a smile. "I've got this."

And sure enough, after much trial and error, they finally found something that worked.

"You're a genius," Tony said as he powered up his suit once again.

Jane blushed and looked away. "Well, I did have some help from one of the greatest minds on the planet," she admitted shyly.

Tony grinned at her and reached out a hand to pull her closer.

"Well then," he said with a smirk. "I guess we make quite the team."
