Beyond the Far Future: Luken, Mila and the Unanticipated Quest.

Luken sat with his feet up on the table, his arms locked behind his head. He stared at the ceiling while the news played in the background. It was late in the afternoon, and he had been alone in his apartment for hours.

“...shocking death of one of our great heroes, Doctor Harry Hensley. Hensley was killed when a suspected terrorist attacked him near his home in London yesterday. The attacker was shot and killed by responding security forces. Hensley was seventy-five years old and survived by a wife and two children. This is the latest in a string of attacks that have plagued London since 2017, when all of Britain was placed under martial law after the bombing of Buckingham Palace...”

“Oh shit,” Luken mumbled and pulled up to his seat. “I hope Mila and Leticia are alright.”

Luken jumped up from his chair and headed to the phone on the wall. After holding down each button for three seconds, he heard ringing through the speaker on top of it. Twenty seconds later, there was a click as someone picked up.

“Hello?” Mila answered.

“Mila! Thank god you're okay! I just heard about what happened to Doctor Hensley...are you guys okay? Is Leticia okay?” Luken said quickly as he paced around his small apartment while talking on the phone.

There was a short pause before Mila answered again, “Yeah we're fine...but it's not good here right now. You need to get back here as soon as possible, Luken! Leticia thinks she knows where her father hid some very important things that we need to find! She said it could be dangerous for us if we don't go now! We need you back here now!”
