Warise and Neria: Paving the Way Home
·
Published 3/22/2023In a quest to protect the kings daughter, Neria, from monsters, battles and inevitable heartache, Warise, a devoted female warrior, must choose between loyalty to the King and Crown, and the newfound love she holds for Neria as they venture to Mobbu together.
The two were young, beautiful, and strong. There was no denying that they were the perfect match. Their kingdoms had been rivals for centuries, but the rivalry had grown stale and weak. Rumor had it there was a marriage in the works and that would bring an end to many years of fighting.
The journey from Atocar to Mobbu was long and arduous, but necessary for the royal family of each kingdom to see one another before the wedding. The princess Neria enjoyed every moment of the journey with her new friend Warise. She had met a few other warriors who served the King, but she could not help but feel destined for Warise ever since their first meeting.
It had been raining that day, Neria remembered as she looked out across the rolling hills of Mobbu from her horse’s back. Her father had dismissed her guards after they reached their destination in Mobbu. They would escort her to meet with her betrothed, von Osterman, later that afternoon. Neria felt nervous and excited at the prospect of seeing him again. She had never liked men before, but something about von Osterman attracted her unlike anything else ever has before.
Neria shook those thoughts away and turned her attention to Warise who commanded their small party as its leader. His hair was just as dark as his eyes and both matched his olive skin perfectly. He wore a light grey cloak over his armor to conceal his identity; he did not want anyone to know he was a warrior sworn to Neria’s father for fear of betrayal by any who might be in league with Lord von Osterman or his followers. Neria looked into Warise’s eyes as he spoke to their guide who led them down a narrow path through the woods between their current location and Mobbu Castle where they would leave their horses before making the walk up to the throne room where Neria would meet her betrothed for the first time in person after conversing only via letter for so long.
Neria found herself lost in Warise’s eyes, gazing into them as if she could get lost within them forever until Warise suddenly stopped speaking and looked away from their guide and into Neria’s eyes as well. She blushed deeply when she realized how obvious it was what she was doing and Warrise turned his gaze back towards their guide who had stopped talking mid-sentence as well and instead just stared at the two young lovers with a smile on his face like he knew exactly what they were thinking about one another without even needing to look into their minds for answers he already knew were there all along.
The rest of their journey continued without incident as Warrise continued watching out for any threat while keeping close enough to keep his eye on everything going on around them while simultaneously maintaining a respectable distance between him and Neria who continued looking at him whenever she got the chance while they walked hand-in-hand through more forested land until they reached Mobbu Castle at last where they said goodbye to their guide who headed back towards Atocar while they went inside Mobbu Castle itself which loomed above them like a giant hulking beast watching its prey walk right underneath it unknowingly before it pounced upon its next meal with great ferocity just like it may do here today if given half a chance...
