Passionate Parkplace Night
·
Published 3/11/2023When wild and rugged hitchhiker Max meets a sassy single mom, Polly, in the small town of Parkplace, they both find themselves uncontrollably and dangerously drawn to each other amidst Max's troubled past, leading to a steamy night of high-drama, mystery and intense passion.
Polly stretched her legs and rubbed her eyes as she looked around the truck stop. The place was almost empty, save for a few old men sleeping at their tables and a sleepy looking waitress mopping the floor.
She rubbed her eyes again, not quite sure if waking up in a dingy truck stop restaurant in the middle of nowhere was a dream or not. She had been driving since yesterday afternoon, when she pulled over to sleep for the night. Apparently, she had stopped at one of the few places that were open twenty-four hours a day.
Polly took another deep breath and stretched her arms above her head, before turning her attention back to her half-finished cup of coffee. She wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but she knew it must have been several hours since she fell asleep. She had no idea when the breakfast buffet ended and if she missed out on dinner last night. As she stirred more sugar into her coffee, she wondered how long it would take for them to clear her car from the snow drift. Or if they would even bother doing so at all. She sighed and shook the thought from her mind, there was nothing she could do about it anyway so why worry? Instead, Polly sipped from her cup and let out a sigh of relief as the hot liquid went down her throat. There was still some left, which meant that either breakfast wasn’t over yet or that she got three cups of coffee for the price of one. Either way, Polly figured that was better than nothing.
As she looked out at the storm raging outside, Polly noticed something odd approaching through the snow drifts. It looked like a big truck covered with snow but there was someone walking besides it – someone who walked like they carried both the world and their demons on their shoulders. Polly watched as this person approached from behind the building where some of the trucks parked and suddenly felt an inexplicable urge to get up and go meet this person face to face. Without really knowing why, Polly found herself standing up from her table and walking towards the door. On second thought, maybe it had something to do with all those cups of coffee…
