Reign of Time: A Battle for the Future

Thea watched as the numbers on the time machine's control panel ticked down. 10 seconds. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she gripped Karan's hand tightly. They were about to travel forward in time, to a future that was both exciting and terrifying.

"Are you ready?" Karan asked, his voice filled with a mix of anticipation and fear.

Thea nodded, unable to find her voice. She glanced at Rahul, who stood beside them, his face pale but determined. Next to him was Ziesha, her expression unreadable. Thea wondered what was going through her mind. After all, Ziesha had already experienced this once before, when she was known as Sana.

"5...4...3...2...1," Dr. Khanna counted down.

Thea braced herself as the time machine whirred to life. There was a blinding flash of light, and then everything went still.

When Thea opened her eyes, she found herself standing in the middle of a bustling city street. The buildings around them were tall and sleek, with holographic advertisements flashing on their sides. Flying cars zoomed overhead, their engines humming softly.

"We made it," Karan said with a relieved smile.

Thea looked around in awe. They were in Mumbai, but it looked nothing like the city she knew from her own time period. This was Mumbai in 2050—a futuristic metropolis filled with advanced technology and endless possibilities.

"It's incredible," Thea breathed.

"I know," Rahul agreed, his eyes wide with wonder.

Ziesha remained silent, her gaze distant as if lost in thought or memory.

Dr. Khanna stepped out of the time machine and joined them on the street. He looked pleased with himself as he surveyed their surroundings.

"Welcome to the future," he said smugly.

Thea tore her gaze away from the city and turned to Dr. Khanna. "So, what now? What are we supposed to do here?"

Dr. Khanna's smile faded slightly. "There's something I need to tell you all," he said, his tone serious.

Thea exchanged a worried glance with Karan and the others. She had a bad feeling about this.

"What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Dr. Khanna took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm afraid I haven't been entirely honest with you."

Thea felt her stomach drop. She knew it was too good to be true—that there was a catch to all of this.

"What do you mean?" Karan demanded, his voice laced with anger and betrayal.

Dr. Khanna looked down at the ground, unable to meet their gaze. "I've been working for Dr. Hoshi all along," he admitted.

Thea felt like the world was spinning around her. She struggled to process Dr. Khanna's words—his confession that he had been secretly working for their enemy this whole time.

"But...why?" she asked, her voice trembling with disbelief and hurt.

Dr. Khanna sighed heavily before answering. "Dr. Hoshi promised me power—power beyond anything I could ever imagine."

"So, you betrayed us?" Rahul said, his voice filled with anger.

"I did what I had to do," Dr. Khanna replied defensively.

Ziesha remained silent, but Thea could see the disappointment in her eyes—the realization that the man she had trusted and admired was not who she thought he was.

"Where is Dr. Hoshi?" Karan demanded, his voice cold and furious.

"He's not here," Dr. Khanna said quickly, raising his hands in a placating gesture. "He sent me ahead to prepare for your arrival."

"Prepare for what?" Thea asked, her voice laced with dread.

Dr. Khanna hesitated for a moment before answering. "To use the time machine," he said quietly. "And to rewrite history."

Thea felt her heart stop. This couldn't be happening. They had come all this way, fought so hard to get here, only to have it all taken away from them.

"We can't let that happen," Rahul said, his voice filled with determination.

The others nodded in agreement. They might have been caught off guard by Dr. Khanna's betrayal, but they weren't about to give up without a fight.

"But how do we stop him?" Thea asked, her voice filled with desperation and fear.

Karan glanced at Ziesha, a spark of hope in his eyes. "We have you," he said softly.

Ziesha looked surprised by Karan's words. "Me? What can I do?"

Karan took her hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "You're Sana," he reminded her. "You've been here before—you know Dr. Hoshi better than any of us."

Ziesha nodded slowly, the pieces starting to come together in her mind. She might not remember everything from her past life as Sana, but she knew that she was capable of more than she realized.

"You're right," she said with newfound confidence. "I can help you stop him."

Thea felt a surge of hope as she looked at Ziesha—her friend who had transformed from a shy and quiet girl into someone strong and brave.

"We're in this together," Thea said, taking Ziesha's hand in hers and squeezing it tightly.

Ziesha smiled at Thea gratefully, and Thea knew that no matter what happened next, they would face it together—as a team.
