Spirited Nature: The Quest of Alex, Jessie, and Amy
·
Published 5/23/2023Three spirited and courageous friends, Alex, Jessie, and Amy, embark on an unpredictable quest when they join forces with wise mentors and brave allies to battle demons and criminal forces of darkness, all in an attempt to restore balance to the planet and save nature from peril.

For a good part of her life, Alex had been trying to figure out what exactly was the meaning of life. Was it money? Is there a heaven? Does God exist?
Today, she had finally found out.
She opened her eyes and was greeted by the sight of the trees standing tall and proud around her. She could hear the chirping birds and the rustling leaves. The smell of fresh air assaulted her senses and she felt free. Free to do whatever she wanted. Free to be herself. Free to not think about school or friends or anything that didn't matter anymore. She was tired of living in a city with millions of other people, where she couldn't even go out alone at night without fearing for her safety. She started looking around for her companions.
"Jessie?" she called out, but there was no response from the man who stood near a small pond with his back turned towards her. "Jessie!" she called again and started running towards him. It took only three steps before she fell into something hard and cold, which snapped shut behind her like a trap door on a crocodile's mouth.
The next thing she knew, Alex was sitting at a table in a diner with some guy staring at her across the table with an annoyed look on his face, as if he had just been interrupted while eating his breakfast by some clueless bimbo who keeps calling him Jessie instead of Jimmy.
"Um... I'm sorry I accidentally sat down here," Alex said, confusedly looking around the diner for someone she might know but only finding strangers in every direction. "Do you know where I can find Jessie?"
"I don't know who this Jessie is that you keep talking about," Jimmy said curtly as he leaned closer to her over the table, "but I'm sure you're mistaken thinking that he's my friend." His face was covered in pimples and an ugly scar ran down his cheek from his eyebrow all the way down to his chin. He wore a red baseball cap with a white brim that had turned yellowish over time and he smelled of cigarettes even though he was wearing fresh clothes.
"He's wearing black pants and a green striped shirt," Alex insisted, desperately hoping that Jimmy knew who Jessie was since he seemed to be the only one who could help her out at the moment. "And he has blue hair." Jimmy looked at her suspiciously for a few moments before finally deciding to shrug it off as a joke. "You're fucking hilarious, honey," he said as he got up from his chair and threw some money on the table before walking away from the table towards the counter where two men were talking quietly among themselves in low voices while they waited for their order to arrive.
Alex glanced at them nervously before turning back towards Jimmy's direction expectantly, hoping that he would change his mind and decide to explain everything to her so that she wouldn't have to remain lost any longer than necessary in this unfamiliar place called Earth. But Jimmy ignored her completely and stood with his arms crossed in front of him as he stared dully at one spot on the wall above the counter before taking out another cigarette from his pocket and lighting it up with a lighter that one of the guys behind the counter gave him when he asked for it without even looking away from his spot on the wall above them.
Alex sighed helplessly and started looking around for someone else who might be willing to help her figure out what happened after she fell into that strange hole that appeared under her feet while running towards Jessie in the middle of nowhere yesterday while they were searching for food after three days of walking through nature without taking any breaks or sleeping properly because they were too scared by how quiet it was outside their tent during those nights filled with fear, uncertainty and danger lurking around every corner waiting for them to drop their guards so that they could attack them mercilessly in order to keep them away from their goal which was nothing less than saving nature itself from destruction at the hands of evil people like those who lived in cities like San Diego where they lived until yesterday who thought nothing of cutting down trees or selling animals as meat to be cooked until they tasted delicious despite knowing fully well that there are beings living inside those animals like birds and squirrels who can talk just like humans can talk if you give them enough time but all those people care about is whether or not an animal tastes good when cooked on fire or not instead of listening carefully about their cries begging for mercy before ending their lives against their will just because humanity isn't wise enough yet to realize that pain doesn't taste good when eaten alongside food cut straight from trees because why use such things when we have factories making us plastic plates wrapped in pretty boxes full of unnatural ingredients which taste better than anything else ever created by Mother Nature right?
