Goatherds' Secret Cave of Dreams

- End of The Beginning Etienne and Sophie were two young goatherds, who were best friends and often made bets with each other purely to alleviate the boredom their daily lives brought along. This was especially true when in their small farming village, two miles outside of the city of Lyons’ walls. Despite both of their young age, they were the talk of their entire small village because of their sharp wit, clever quips and sarcasm, which gave the whole village something to talk about .One day, Etienne and Sophie took one of their usual bets to the next level - whoever found something new, interesting and exciting around the outskirts of the village would be declared the winner of their bet.

- After a few days of search, Sophie ended up finding a mysterious path leading to a sheltered cave. Etienne and Sophie went together to explore this shelter and found a wondrous library filled to the brim with books, maps and artifacts, which held a valuable secret about the inhabitants of the council. With curiosity brimming and their hearts filled with excitement, Etienne and Sophie intrepidly walked onwards, further into the cave and soon stumbled upon a small campfire in a corner. It was here they met an ancient old magician who revealed to them a powerful secret – a pathway that pairs great courage with uncanny wisdom. The magician had been searching the entire cave, filled with knowledge and memories, to find a way to fulfill his last ambitions.

- With this knowledge in hand, filled to the brim with courage and newfound pride, Etienne and Sophie found their destination on their maps intended by the magician and were ready to set off, towards a completely unknown, yet fiercely enchanting place. However, news about their adventures quickly spread to their small village and alarms started ringing for this venture seemed almost too unsafe. Sophie and Etienne had to use all the power of their wit and courage to be brave and silent enough to reach their destination despite all the obstacles they faced on their way

- Finally, Etienne and Sophie reach their final destination and as they stroll onto a lush, vast meadow Teresa and Sophie fall to their knees shocked. Before them was the magician’s old wish; a breathtaking view of Eleanor’s palace surrounded by a sprawling garden of the most magnificently abundant flowers and majestic trees. As the sun sets, a sense of pride and accomplishment fills their souls. They made it, despite all of their obstacles, due to the power of their courage and their snarky wit. With their dreams now fulfilled, the two friends return to their small village with newfound skills, pride, and well-deserved honors from their humble community.

Although their adventures were full of surprises and unexpected turns, Etienne and Sophie smiled to each other, during the never-ending journey. Richly detailed descriptions of the rural French countryside, intertwining with each characters’ own witty dialogue, had made this an emotionally charged story of friendship, ambition, and self-satisfaction.
