 In the vibrant and bustling city of Kyoto in 22nd century Asia, lay a small and unassuming tree in the middle of the community park, often forgotten and ignored. This ordinary sapling is actually a young girl named Kohka, who suffered a mysterious accident that resulted in her turning into a tree. Traumatized by her condition and feeling like an outcast, Kohka is misguided by a sense of low self-esteem. A gentle and kind spirit, Kohka seeks solace amongst the leaves ranging from deep summer green to the bright yellows and oranges of autumn. These outings provide Kohka consolation and gradually restore her faith in life and friendships. Fortunately, Kohka's plight does not go unnoticed; the locals slowly come to accept her existence and even bring supporters to come out in defence of Kohka's tree-like form. With help from her newfound friends, as well as inner strength, Kohka slowly regains her confidence and transforms into a young woman of great courage, learning, acceptance and understanding; returning to her true, human form. In the bittersweet ending, the morose days of the solitary, little mahogany tree finally come to a close, and the inclusive human community of Kyoto accept who Kohka really is and warmly welcome her back.

Act 1: End of the Beginning - In the hustle and bustle of Kyoto in 22nd century Asia, there stands a young girl named Kohka who, due to a mysterious accident, turned into a small sapling in the middle of the crowded public park. Traumatized and filled with a sense of low self-esteem, Kohka navigates her way deliberately throughout her woodsy domain. Her encounters with the community ranging from tender mercies to harsh criticisms reinforces her own view of herself, ultimately worsening her condition.

Act 2: Midpoint - Despite all Kohka goes through, she never succumbs to the darkness of her mysterious condition. Instead, she confidently pursues solace and comfort in the gentle embrace of the trees ranging from bright summer greens to vibrant autumn hues. Her walks in the park slowly beckon like-minded folk besides a passerby, three kids, and a few seniors who -- through small acts of kindness -- eventually connect with Kohka, provoking them to fill the world with warmth and benevolence.

Act 3: Crisis - Even with the newfound support from both her newfound friends and inner strength, Kohka's condition remains unchanged and is causing her much distress. But slowly, through more encouraging words and more thoughtful gazes, the locals slowly accept her for who she is.

Act 4: Climax - The locals, touched by Kohka's spirit, courage and enthusiasm, construct a shrine to her as a sign of their appreciation and respect. These demonstrations of loving acceptance cause a realization within Kohka and, due to a sudden burst of inner energy, Kohka physically transforms back into a human and returns to her true form. Despite the bittersweet emotions, the locals welcome her back warmly and happiness restored. The once forgotten, solitary Mahogany tree is now remembered fondly in a heartwarming reunion with her beloved city of Kyoto.
