Uniting Alona: A Journey to End Oppression in Italy

The rain poured down on the dusty, cracked ground of the battlefield. It was a war that had been waged for far too long. The New World Empire and Donald Trump's regime had been fighting each other for as long as men could remember. It seemed like such a pointless war to me; I didn't understand why we couldn't just end this nonsense and live in peace. But alas, we were so far into this war that it felt like it would never end.

I walked through the rain towards the camp, hunched over to try and keep my head dry. I couldn't wait to get out of the rain and get some rest. A man came running towards me from the camp ahead, waving his arms to get my attention. As he came closer, I recognized him as Sentio, a fellow soldier who I'd fought alongside many times before. His face was contorted with an expression of urgency that I've seen many times before on men preparing for battle or looking back after a hard-won victory; it was an expression of sheer terror mingled with excitement at what may lie ahead of us. For all we knew, it could be another battle or it might just be dinner time. He ran up to me and bent over breathing heavily.

"What's wrong?" I asked him after he caught his breath.

"You've gotta see this!" he said between gasps for air, "I don't know if it's good news or bad news but..."

He didn't finish his sentence before he started running back towards the camp again, beckoning me to follow him quickly. He ran into the center of the tent city and stopped in front of one of the larger tents where I could see a crowd gathering around something inside. He waved me over again and gestured desperately for me to come inside with him. I hesitated for a moment before walking into the tent behind him to find out what all the fuss was about. We stood at one end of a large hallway with four large wooden doors on either side of us leading into rooms beyond them. At the far end of the hall, dozens of men were standing around talking excitedly while others kept walking in and out of the four rooms we stood in front of at our end of the hall. Sentio led me past them and into a room on our right where two men sat behind a long table at its center while they pored over maps spread out in front of them on the table top. One looked up at us as we entered but neither man said anything as they continued their conversation without looking up again at us as we entered their room behind them and slowly made our way across its length towards its other end where there was a window overlooking an enormous valley below us filled with thousands upon thousands of soldiers readying their weapons for battle beneath us in preparation for an imminent attack by Trumps forces somewhere across that valley from us; an attack that would begin any moment now I thought as my stomach twisted in knots thinking about it and wondering whether or not our side would be able to defend ourselves against his forces when suddenly one of those doors in front of us opened up behind the two men seated at the table in front of us without either looking back at us or saying anything to let us know that someone was walking through it until suddenly...

"SENTIO," she said loudly enough for both men sitting behind her to hear her voice clear as day even though she spoke quietly so as not to attract attention from anyone else in this room full of people around her who could have easily heard what she had said from all around her if you listened closely enough to her voice among all those other voices filling this crowded tent city with sounds so that only those two men seated behind her heard what she said loud enough for them to turn around and see her standing there looking at them directly *with* those eyes under *those* eyebrows staring down *at* them *with* that face so beautiful that you'd think she was here just to see you and no one else standing there talking to you by choice because she couldn't stand seeing anybody else there but had no choice but to see them too because they were here all around her making noise so loud that she couldn't help but notice them when all she wanted was some quiet alone time with you which is exactly how my eyes felt when they met hers standing there standing right there right there right next to me there standing next to me standing still standing still still suddenly
