Curves of Love for Franklin and Sylvie
·
Published 3/11/2023Franklin, an attractive office worker from France, unexpectedly discovers a love interest in Sylvie, the passionate and skilled European pastry chef, who must find her own unique way to become the curvaceous figure her newfound suitor desires.
"I'm telling you, Sylvie, pour the batter in the middle of roasting pan, it'll create a nice little dome! And then when you put it in the oven and take it out, and if it falls over... then you know that you've been successful!"
"And what if, what if I don't have time to bake a cake? Or what if I just have some tartlets to make?"
"Well then, use a muffin tin! It's not as dramatic, but it works just as well!"
She sighed. "You know... You're very sweet. But..." She paused for dramatic effect. "...I don't think I like you."
Franklin looked hurt. "What are you talking about?" he asked desperately. "I'm perfect for you!" He leaned in closer to her. "You should give me a chance."
Sylvie rolled her eyes. "And why is that?" she asked skeptically. She picked up her wallet from the end table and began to rummage through it for change. That's another thing Franklin loved about her: no matter how much money she had, she never treated him like he was beneath her. When they ate out together, they would always split the bill evenly; and even though he knew she could buy him a meal at any restaurant she chose, she always insisted on paying her share of the tab.
"Because," said Franklin enthusiastically. "First off, we have all the same interests! We both love sweets, we both love walking outside on a sunny day..." He took out his phone and pulled up a picture of them at last weekend's picnic. "We even look good together!" He held up his phone so that they could see their faces superimposed over each other's bodies in an undeniably cute way. Sylvie smiled and rolled her eyes again before snatching his phone from him. She switched over to his camera app and snapped a quick selfie of herself with him in the background; Franklin made sure to smile extra big for this one as he wanted to be seen behind her in the photo as well as beside her - after all, he needed to show off his perfect teeth! Once she'd finished taking the photo, Sylvie handed back his phone with an exasperated look on her face; Franklin was still smiling as he checked out his new profile picture.
"You know," said Sylvie thoughtfully after a few moments of silence between them, "I do like you too." She closed her wallet and turned toward him with a slight grin on her face; Franklin felt his heart flutter when he saw that smile - it wasn't nearly as bright as the one she wore whenever she had a new idea for dessert or presentation for one of her dishes, but it was still pretty great nonetheless.
"Really?" asked Franklin excitedly - perhaps there was still hope for this relationship after all! "That's great! So I'm your type?"
Sylvie raised an eyebrow at him as she stood up from the couch they were sitting on; Franklin quickly jumped up to help steady one end of the table while she grabbed the other side and helped carry it into the kitchen where their coats hung by the door (they had been watching TV together when they got hungry).
"It doesn't really matter if you're my type or not," said Sylvie nonchalantly while they set down their side of table on top of where his end had been set moments earlier (Franklin remembered now that he had left some crumbs right there). "There are many reasons why someone might date someone else... But physical attraction is certainly important."
