Euceron scowled at the empty street. He adjusted his dark glasses and glanced behind him to see if he was being followed. The old man in the corner booth had been staring at him when he left the bar, but that didn't mean anything. Euceron spent a lot of time in bars because it was easier to avoid being noticed there. It made people forget what they saw so they could be more easily used as cover. He turned back around to scan the street.

A few blocks away, a woman was jaywalking across the street, her head down, looking at her phone. She looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place her face. At least she wasn't paying attention to him, which meant he was being careful enough not to be noticed.

He pondered his next move for a moment before deciding that he probably needed to get back to the ship as quickly as possible. He had grabbed his pack from his room when he left, filled with what little money and equipment he carried with him on every job, but since then he'd left everything else behind. The important things he always kept on himself - wallet, blaster, knife ... or so it used to be.

Euceron patted himself down and cursed under his breath as he realized his blaster was missing. It must have slipped out of his pocket while he was getting out of town. Now, instead of just being unarmed in an unfamiliar city, he was completely unarmed and alone with no way of contacting anyone else who might help him out of this situation.

Given how much trouble Euceron had already gotten himself into on this particular job, that was no laughing matter at all.

He started walking down the nearest alleyway because it would take him directly back to where he'd left the bike stashed behind a warehouse - where it had been for all five days of this job - then figured that getting some information about the city wouldn't hurt. People liked talking about themselves and their surroundings and usually didn't notice when someone like him listened in on their conversations without making an appearance.. Euceron headed towards the end of the alleyway and peered around the corner carefully before stepping out onto the sidewalk and walking past a cafe full of people sitting outside enjoying their lunch hour - perfect for eavesdropping.

Euceron sidled up against a wall across from them and pretended to be texting while trying to look nonchalant in case anyone noticed him there. Several people were still inside finishing up their meals or waiting for their orders while several others were already standing up or packing things up after eating outside when suddenly someone shouted: "Gun!"

Euceron glanced over towards one corner of the patio where two men were wrestling on top of tables with spilled food everywhere while another man tried desperately to grab both of them by their collars and pull them apart before one managed to shoot the other right between the eyes with his own blaster pistol before running off into the crowd of onlookers who were now screaming loudly in panic and confusion as more people ran past them back into the cafe proper or ducked behind things to hide from whoever was shooting at them now ... Euceron had forgotten all about gathering information now that something interesting had happened: shots being fired meant business had just picked up for a bounty hunter like himself who could always use a new payday ...
