Alice's Pacific Quest
·
Published 6/7/2023Clumsy Alice, an angsty and tenacious giraffe, embarks on an epic journey with her two oddball friends in search of the legendary seahorse of the seven seas, facing an army of angry squirrels and warriors of the wordy seas in a race against time that will define who she is and prove her resilience.

"Hey, Alice!" Bug-eating Turtle called out to his best friend. "We're here!"
"Yay!" Alice exclaimed. She caught a glimpse of a ship on the horizon and squealed with delight. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe it! We made it!" She clapped her hands and hopped up and down in the sand.
"Yes we did," yawned Seagull. "Now let's get this over with."
Turtle opened his mouth wide and sucked up the ocean water into his throat. After taking a deep breath, he then spit out the water as high as he could into the air above them. The three friends watched as the water began to form a giant bubble around them that slowly floated towards the sky, carrying them along for the ride.
After a couple of minutes, they were high enough that they could see the entire island from above, which was now just a tiny speck in the middle of the ocean.
"That's where we just left," said Turtle sadly. "I sure will miss everyone there." He paused for a moment before continuing: "But I'm also excited to finally meet Seahorse Man." He watched as the tiny island got smaller and smaller until it disappeared into nothingness, leaving behind only an endless sea surrounding them on all sides.
As they travelled onwards, Seagull flew off to get some rest while Turtle continued staring at the horizon in awe. Alice tried to take some naps too but couldn't stop herself from feeling so dizzy and worried about not finding Seahorse Man in time. She thought about how she accidentally broke her mom's favorite vase when she was studying for her spelling test last week and how she wasn't able to fix it since she didn't know how to use superglue properly yet, causing her to get grounded from going outside for two weeks starting tomorrow morning. Then she thought about how she made another mistake by forgetting to turn off the stove when making dinner yesterday so that when her mom tried to make breakfast this morning, their house was filled with smoke and their electricity went out for two hours until Uncle Bob helped fix it. Then she thought about how she accidentally knocked down Uncle Bob's favorite lamp last month and how he yelled at her so loudly that even Grandpa had tears streaming down his face because he was worried that Alice was getting hit too hard by Uncle Bob until Mom explained later in private that she was just being playful with him like always because Uncle Bob is actually really shy around strangers so it took him some time to warm up to Alice but after a long talk with Uncle Bob later that night, they ended up having pizza together at 12 am and Uncle Bob apologized for scaring her earlier today after eating way too much pizza at dinner earlier tonight which caused Alice to start crying because she felt bad for making Uncle Bob apologize twice today when it was all her fault because she didn't turn off the stove like Mom told her over dinner tonight because she forgot again to do it yesterday when they had pizza together...
"Alice? Earth to Alice?" said Bug-eating Turtle angrily as he tapped his friend on the shoulder trying to wake her up from her daydreaming session which lasted more than an hour now.
Alice immediately woke up from her thoughts and looked around surprised at finding herself in such an unfamiliar place with no sign of either Seagull or Turtle in sight. She screamed out loud: "WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?"
