Love's Triangle

Tunde walked through the crowded mall, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of work and errands. He was just going through the motions of another mundane day when suddenly, he bumped into someone, causing them both to stumble.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Tunde exclaimed, reaching out a hand to steady the person he had collided with.

As they regained their balance, Tunde looked up and felt his heart skip a beat. Standing before him was Molade Adeyinka, the woman who had captured his heart all those years ago in university. She was just as stunning as he remembered, her dark skin glowing and her eyes sparkling with a mischievous light.

"Molade?" Tunde said in disbelief. "Is that really you?"

A warm smile spread across Molade's face as she took in Tunde's familiar features. "Tunde Okeke! It's been ages! How are you?"

Tunde's mind raced as he tried to find the right words to respond. Six years had passed since they had last seen each other, and during that time, Tunde's feelings for Molade had never wavered. He had always loved her from afar but never acted on his emotions due to her relationship with his friend Akin.

"I...I'm good," Tunde finally managed to say, his voice slightly shaky. "How about you? What have you been up to all these years?"

Molade glanced down at her engagement ring and then back up at Tunde, a hint of sadness flickering in her eyes. "Well, I actually just got engaged," she said softly. "To David Delano."

Tunde felt like the wind had been knocked out of him. David Delano was not only his best friend but also someone from a wealthy and influential family. The news hit him like a punch to the gut, shattering any hopes or fantasies he had about a future with Molade.

"I...I see," Tunde replied, struggling to hide his disappointment. "Congratulations, Molade. I'm happy for you."

Molade's gaze softened as she studied Tunde's expression, sensing the mix of emotions swirling within him. She reached out and gently touched his arm.

"Tunde, there's something I need to tell you," she said in a hushed tone. "This engagement...it's more of an arranged match than a love match. I still have feelings for you."

Tunde's heart started racing, his mind swirling with a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He had always dreamed of this moment, of Molade finally confessing her love for him. But now, with her engaged to his best friend, it felt like a cruel twist of fate.

"Molade..." Tunde began, searching for the right words.

Before he could say anything else, Molade glanced around nervously and then leaned in closer to Tunde.

"Meet me at our old spot by the lake tonight," she whispered. "There's so much more I want to tell you."

With that, Molade gave Tunde a small smile and walked away, leaving him standing there in stunned silence.
