I look at the address on the piece of paper and it flashes brightly in my mind. I can't believe this is really happening. I'm going to America! This is a dream come true. My parents would be proud of me. It's been such a long time since I've seen them. Phew, I can't believe how much I miss them. I smile to myself and then remember that I need to go downstairs to get my bags ready.

My parents helped me pack all my stuff they said they wanted me to take with me because they didn't want to be separated from me. They told me that if I missed anything at school, I should just tell them and they'll mail it over for me quickly. They have been so supportive of me ever since I received my scholarship letter.

I heard people say that America was very cold but I don't mind. If America was too warm, then there might not be snow and snow is fun! My friends back home told me that there were lots of snow when it got cold in America. Yeah! I can play in the snow with all my friends back home! There will be so many things for us to do! But first, we have to go to America! The plane ride sounds scary but it should be fun too!

"Wanida!" My mom called out to me. "Come down here now!" She yelled at the top of her lungs while she whipped around in circles with her arms flaring out like an airplane wing.

"Coming Mom!" I answered as I ran down the stairs two steps at a time. When I reached the bottom of the stairs, Mom was holding two suitcases by the handles and another suitcase on her right arm by her fingertips. She looked very tired but she smiled anyway when she saw me run down the stairs so fast.

"Did you pack everything?" she asked as she placed all three suitcases on the ground next to each other along with mine that sat next to her feet on a luggage cart that dad bought for us years ago.

"Yes," I said proudly, "everything that was in my room is now in these suitcases."

"Good job Wanida," my mom said smiling from ear to ear. "You're very responsible."

"Thank you Mom," I responded back as we walked into the living room together carrying our suitcases then we both turned around and picked up some more suitcases that were left behind by our housekeeper who worked for us part-time cleaning our house every week day after work when she found out that my family and I were moving away from our home in Thailand and going to Washington D.C., United States of America where my new school was located, Stare Academy which was one of the best private schools in America, according [to] mom who read all about it on Google before telling Dad and telling him that we had won a scholarship for me because of all the good grades which made him feel proud of himself because he knew how hard he tried his best when he taught me how to speak English properly at home, even though sometimes he made mistakes when he spoke English too, but it didn't matter because most Americans could understand what he meant anyway because he spoke slowly or said it again if he couldn't find a word or if he forgot what word he wanted to say, but whenever he said something wrong or people laughed at him for saying something wrong, his face always turned red even though he never felt embarrassed about speaking English wrongly because he knew speaking English wasn't easy for anyone no matter how long they had lived in America or where they had learned English from because Americans have their own way of talking in English which is different from any other country in the whole world no matter how hard people try their bests to learn how to speak American English correctly like Americans do themselves because everyone makes mistakes no matter who they are or where they are from.
