The Road to Elusive Expectations

"Goddamnit!"

The Doctor's head slammed down on the console, yet again. He paused for a moment, as he heard something behind him. A sort of creaking noise, like someone opening the door to an old house. He turned around and immediately regretted it. Standing in the doorway was a man, wearing what looked like a black tuxedo and a red bow tie.

The Doctor blinked. The man stared back at him with his face completely blank.

"You're not my realtor," said the Doctor, confused.

The man continued to stare at him. The Doctor took another look at him and inwardly groaned. So this is what I look like when I'm angry, he thought to himself. This really isn't helping my image.

"No," said the man. "I am not." His voice was emotionless, but somehow the Doctor could still feel something sinister lurking behind it all. "I'm here to take you away."

The Doctor backed up against the console and watched as the man walked forward, closer and closer towards him. He felt his heartbeat increase as sweat began to form on his brow, but he forced himself to remain calm.

"I don't think so," said the Doctor, trying his best to sound threatening despite his fear. "This is my Tardis! It belongs to me!"

The man smiled then and pointed down at the floor where the Doctor had been standing just moments ago: he was gone now. Instead there was only a large puddle of water where he had once been standing, slowly seeping out of the Tardis and onto the floor outside of it. The Doctor's eyes widened in realization, as did his mouth: it hung open in shock as he looked over at the man again, who simply smiled back at him and nodded his head positively at whatever he seemed to be implying, while still keeping that cold expression on his face...
