Digital Depths: Jessica Bell's Quest for Justice

"Holy shit, you've got to be fucking kidding me!"

Inspector Jessica Bell stared at the holo-monitor in utter disbelief. Her lips were twisted into a scowl as she stared at the words on the screen:

"ASSET IDENTIFIED: JESSICA BELL."

Bell was a pretty decent hacker - her work on several gang-related cases had led her to be recruited by Interpol's cybercrime division when she was just 20 years old.

She'd been working for them for five years now, and this was the first time she'd ever seen anything like this. The screen in front of her showed no signs of anyone's tampering. She knew it wasn't a virus; this kind of thing only happened when a person was compromised by a dedicated hacker. And while they weren't as rare as they used to be, dedicated hackers still tended to be pretty good at their job. You didn't see them showing off on every corner of the internet with their work.

And yet here she was, staring at the words "ASSET IDENTIFIED: JESSICA BELL." The name field in front of it was blank, but the other fields were all filled out in shocking detail. There were even photos listed under the "PERSONAL INFO" tab: her family, her friends, other colleagues from Interpol - some of whom she hadn't seen in years! And...other things that made her want to cross her legs and never open them again. What did he do with those photos?! There wasn't an option to delete them from the interface, either; she could only acknowledge that these photos were hers.

The worst part about it was that there were absolutely no clues as to who might have done this to her. No IP addresses or anything else that could point to his location or identity. It looked like whoever did this had been very careful to cover up his tracks so he wouldn't be found.

Bell was sweating profusely now as she continued flicking through her info details in sheer disbelief. She reached a tab labeled "PARAMETERS" and clicked it without thinking twice, only to find herself staring at another long list of information with even more shocking implications written next to each entry! Did these people really think they could spy on her like this?! She might not be a field agent anymore, but she still had plenty of experience in combat and espionage! She'd worked alongside Interpol agents all around Europe and even run some operations herself! This couldn't possibly scare her off! Wasn't all of this supposed to be about making someone give up? Did none of these assholes know how Interpol operated? Were they all idiots?!!
