Felix's Fate: An Action-Horror Journey Through Nazi Occupied Europe
·
Published 5/2/2023With the odds stacked against him, Felix - a brave but naive young man - must risk his life on an action-horror journey in 20th-century Europe to save himself and others from the Nazi super soldiers created from his own DNA, devised by the morally bereft Dr. Klitz.

Felix had no idea what he was supposed to do. He was in a small room with a big steel door that opened onto the world.
He couldn't tell what time of day it was, but he could feel the sun on his skin, and he knew it wasn't nighttime. It was warm, but not too warm.
Felix tried to think about how long he had been here, but he couldn't remember yesterday. Or the day before that, or even the week before that. He remembered walking up to Amalia's home in his uniform, and he remembered her angry face as she pulled him inside kicking and screaming...but nothing after that until now.
He stood in front of the door, looking out through its small slit window at the world outside. He didn't know where he was, or what this place was that looked like a barn: flat grassland stretching off into the distance where there were a few trees and tall grasses swaying back and forth under a bright blue sky.
He didn't know where Amalia was either, or Dr. Klitz, or anyone else for that matter. He felt alone and afraid again, like when they locked him here in the first place.
"Am I free?" He croaked at last, turning to look behind him at the empty walls of his prison cell. "Am I free now?" He said again more loudly, then louder still as he picked up speed until he was shouting at the top of his lungs until his throat hurt from all the shouting...but nobody came to answer him back.
"HELP!" He screamed one last time before finally pounding his fist against the steel door with such force it rang out like a gong bell deep inside its hollow metal walls. "I WANT TO GO HOME!" The only response he got for his troubles were a pair of hands grabbing onto his arms from behind pulling them away from the door so hard it made him fall forward onto his knees in front of it...and when he turned around to see who it was holding him there Amalia had tears streaming down her face as she shook her head wordlessly at him while still holding onto his arms to keep him away from the door outside their prison cell together forever now.
Felix slumped helplessly down onto his side on the cold stone floor defeated again by reality and stared up at her hopelessly as she sat down beside him wiping her eyes dry on her sleeve with one hand while still holding onto his arm with the other."What's happening?" He asked her weakly after an interminable stretch of silence passed between them like an eternity of torture that left him feeling trapped under layers of guilt squeezing tighter and tighter around him without end."Where are we? What is this place?" He asked again more insistently this time struggling up onto his knees to stare up at her expectantly. "I don't understand..." He murmured plaintively clutching at her skirt desperately as she wrapped an arm around him."It's alright," She said soothingly stroking back a lock of hair from his forehead gently,"Everything will be fine soon little Felix..." She whispered into his ear sounding half-asleep herself, and faint smile playing on her lips like she knew something he didn't...which Felix assumed she did because why else would she be smiling?
