Leah's Legends of Rediscovery

The waves lapped gently on the shore, slowly sucking away the sand. Overhead, a flock of seagulls flew in unison in the cloudless sky. The sun shone brightly overhead, almost blinding me as I tried to look out into the horizon. The sand was warm on my toes and I stuck my bare feet right back down again to enjoy it. It felt good, calming me down. Carefully, I walked along the beach with my eyes closed, feeling along in front of me to make sure there were no rocks or urchins hidden beneath the surface. In my mind's eye, I could see everything around me -

The wind whipped through my hair, setting it slightly into motion as I ran alongside the others. My best friend and her sister were ahead of me, their long blonde hair blowing behind them and their laughter filling the air. We were running through the forest in search of treasure that we had heard about from our parents but even after looking for hours we had found nothing. Finally I sat down on a log to rest and she came up behind me, making me jump with a laugh of her own. Her sister joined us and we all sat in a circle talking about what we wanted to be when we grew up and what our favourite things were at that moment. After some time had passed someone mentioned that they wanted to go for a swim so we all agreed and stood up to walk over to a nearby river which was clear enough to see through if you looked hard enough at it. As we were walking over there I saw a glint of something shiny sticking out of the ground at an angle so I bent down and pulled it out. It was a small silver box covered with runes that none of us knew what they meant though one thing was for sure - whoever had buried this must have meant it for us because there just wasn't any way that this could have ended up here by accident!
