Anna's Odyssey of Courage
·
Published 3/15/2023Desperate and accused of a crime she did not commit, Anna - a brave and resilient young woman - embarks on a daring journey to prove her innocence, discovering romance and courage along the way, as she navigates treacherous twists and turns to discover the truth.
"I can't do this, I'm scared." Anna was shivering in the cold night air, tears pouring down her cheeks.
"You can. Just remember the plan we talked about." Elizabeth, her friend and fellow waitress at The White Cloth Inn, wrapped her arms around the young woman reassuringly.
Anna nodded and wiped the tears from her face. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly as she adjusted her hoodie. "I'll be fine, just keep an eye on me from the inn." She said before turning and starting down the street towards the castle.
"Don't forget to call me when you're done!" Elizabeth shouted after her. Anna waved over her shoulder and continued up towards the great stone structure that had dominated the skies for centuries. The moonlight reflected off of its white marble exterior and shone down upon Anna like a spotlight as she walked through the front gates of the castle. She skipped up the stairs to one of many large wooden doors leading into the castle and pulled it open with trembling hands. As she stepped through she could hear Elizabeth's voice still echoing in her head. "Remember to call me when you're done! Don't forget!" Her last words were pleading, almost desperate. Anna smiled sadly at how worried her friend must be right now. Then, steeling herself for what was about to come, she squared her shoulders and marched forward into the dark interior of the castle.

A few hours earlier...
Elizabeth sighed as she hung up another stained tablecloth on a line above a patchwork of chairs, tables, stools and benches belonging to The White Cloth Inn. It was almost closing time now and they were all rushed trying to get everything ready to close shop for the evening. She jumped as Anna approached behind her holding two more dirty table cloths in one hand while wiping sweat beads off of her forehead with her other hand with a dirty rag. "You know you don't have to help us clean up today Anna." Elizabeth said with a smile as she reached across a table to grab some plates that needed to be dried off. "You're not exactly being paid very well here."
Anna shrugged but kept walking towards where they were keeping their extra supplies in a small room at one end of their long narrow establishment. "I know but I enjoy helping out around here so why not?" She entered the supply room and set down both pile of dirty tablecloths onto a pile already sitting there before pulling out some new ones from under another table piled high with clean dishes and pots waiting to be used later tonight by hungry customers who would fill every seat in The White Cloth Inn once again when business started back up tomorrow morning.
"Well thank you for your help whenever we need it." Elizabeth replied with a smile as she picked up some glasses from another table and began drying them off with a towel that had been folded neatly on top of it's surface earlier today before closing time had rolled around but now looked like it had gone through a clothes dryer several times over without any detergent in it's water reservoir at all thanks to these two waitresses who felt they would be better off doing work that didn't need doing rather than getting home just one minute sooner each night and going straight to bed without even taking off their shoes first causing them both to fall asleep faster than they ever had before once they finally got home after these long days working together at The White Cloth Inn which really wasn't an inn at all but just an old dilapidated building that someone bought years ago for next to nothing whose main purpose was now apparently just to collect dust and dirt left behind by those who made their living scouring every inch of this place daily looking for work that needed doing because no one is getting paid here by anyone or anything anymore except maybe these two waitresses themselves who seem there own wages are directly related not only inversely proportional terms but also directly proportional terms perhaps exponentially or even logarithmically perhaps or maybe linearly or polynomially possibly according to some exponential function where an exponential equation is used involving linear functions or polynomial functions or logarithmic functions or trigonometric functions such as sine or cosine or tangent functions sine or cosine or cotangent functions either if those are even still considered functions at all because those might not even be types of functions anymore because we may have lost our ability to differentiate between types of functions after we've lost our ability to differentiate between types of numbers after we've lost our ability to differentiate between types of people which might be what this whole thing has really been about all along anyway since this is really just some dumb pointless story told by someone who believes that telling stories will get people interested enough in their lives so that maybe someone will see something about them worth caring about enough about so that maybe this person won't feel so alone anymore because feeling lonely is what loneliness actually feels like which is why no one wants to feel lonely because feeling lonely makes you feel weak which makes you want to die which makes you want others around you also feel lonely too because no one wants others around them feeling happy when they themselves feel sad so then everyone feels sad together which can be considered both isolation and community at once so it's hard for anyone involved sometimes trying not to go crazy thinking about this stuff which is why we need distractions like movies games books music video games series TV shows Facebook Twitter Instagram Reddit YouTube Tumblr Snapchat Vine Whisper MeWe Periscope Meetup LinkedIn Musical.ly Pinterest Tinder Yik Yak MySpace GoFundMe Patreon Vine Kids Animal Planet National Geographic PBS Food Network Discovery Channel History Channel A&E Lifetime E!
