"Do you think they're gonna die?" I asked, leaning against the stone wall.

"Time will tell." Haeg-Oh's aura swirled around him as he shared my view of the battlefield. He had been so calm about the whole thing, it was a bit unsettling.

"I mean, yes, but do you think they are going to die here on this battlefield?" My aura looked like a flame with occasional sprays of water rising in the air. How odd that mid-battle I would be concerned about the health of others.

"They'll be fine," Haeg-Oh said. "We've been through worse."

"This is true." I sat down and leaned back. The sun warmed my cheeks and I felt a little sleepy. "I wonder what they're thinking right now?" I asked as I stared up at the sky. It looked like somebody had spilled purple paint on a white canvas and then threw red paint at it. That was pretty much how most days looked anywhere in the world, but especially outside of the King's castle where the battle raged.

"Probably they're wondering why we haven't shown up yet," Haeg-oh replied. "You know, why we haven't saved their arses yet again." His aura slowly changed from maroon to young green saplings as he spoke.

I smiled, but quickly returned to melancholy when I realized he was probably right, which made me smile even more because he was usually wrong and it was nice to see him get something right once in a while. "Maybe that's why they haven't died," I replied. We sat quietly and watched the battle rage for a few minutes before either of us spoke again.

"So... you really don't have any idea where we're going?" Haeg-Oh asked suddenly turning to me with an oddly excited expression on his face.

"No clue," I replied honestly. "When are we ever going to go to a place that you have never seen? You know everything there is to know about every place." His aura turned dark blue as if it were full of water that had just been disturbed by waves crashing upon rocks in the ocean depths.

"There are lots of places in this world that nobody has ever seen!" He exclaimed with a smile that always melted my soul whenever he gave it to me. I really wish he would smile more often; maybe then I could resist being drawn into his oceanic eyes and fall into an endless tide pool of love and affection for him forevermore or until he stopped smiling at me and then maybe even after that too? Maybe even forever? He looked over at me with those eyes again and my heart fluttered with joy as I smiled back at him despite knowing that his gaze was not actually focused on me but rather somewhere else out past my shoulder leftwardly, toward wherever our destination might be located in relation to our current position high atop the castle walls overlooking battle-ravaged lands below us?

"Any idea how long we'll be gone?" I asked changing the subject to avoid further questioning regarding our objective or destination location or length of time spent away from one another (the one who drives me all crazy inside).
