Missing the Plotline

My wife and I had wanted to have a baby for years. We were both busy people who worked full time jobs, but we knew that if we saved up enough money and took some time off work, we could make it happen.

And so, that's what we did. We saved up our money and took the time off work. And then, finally, I got her pregnant. It was the happiest day of my life.

We named our son Alex, after my father and hers. She loved him more than anything else in the world, and he loved her just as much. When Alex was born, she cried tears of joy and kissed me on the cheek with a smile from ear to ear. I could see how happy she was; I knew that it was all because of me.

The only thing that could make her happier would be another child. So we started trying again as soon as Alex was old enough to be left home alone while his mother went to work. This time, however, it wasn't easy for either of us.

Six months passed before she told me that she thought she might actually be pregnant this time. She began to get sick every morning around the same time each day. Her breasts began to swell and ache constantly - something she assured me was normal.

I was overjoyed! After everything we'd been through together since our first child, you would think that we'd get pregnant easily! But noooooo! The universe had to make things difficult for us yet again! My wife began to feel nauseated at work one afternoon in the middle of a meeting with a client. She excused herself from the room and ran towards the bathroom as quickly as she could. She threw up in there before rushing back into the meeting room where everyone else waited for her return; she didn't want them to think that she had issues with getting sick around others or anything like that.

Once everyone had returned to their seats, she apologized for interrupting their meeting and explained how ill she felt. The clients asked if they could reschedule their meeting in order to let her rest a bit before continuing on with their business together - a decision that made me proud of my wife! They acknowledged that they understood what it was like to be pregnant and offered her some ginger ale while they waited for her to feel better before rescheduling their meeting for later in the week.

It turned out that my wife was pregnant again! But this pregnancy wasn't going well at all; after only two weeks of being pregnant, my wife experienced some complications due to her illness during our last pregnancy which resulted in us losing our baby boy after only five months of being pregnant with him. This pregnancy ended up being very similar; my wife ended up losing our child after only four months of being pregnant with him this time around. It broke both our hearts into pieces; Alex lost his little brother before he ever even got a chance to meet him face-to-face! He cried when he realized what had happened, but his mother kept telling him not to worry and tried her best not to cry any tears herself because she didn't want our son's tears to cause any more sadness in our family by making us worry about her instead of focusing on him right now!

Alex wanted another brother or sister so badly, but his mother and I were too scared for him now when it came down to having another baby - especially after experiencing how poorly these two pregnancies ended up working out for us! After thinking about it for a few months, we decided that maybe it would be best if we just never had any more children at all...
