'Five Hobbits and a Valiant Conspiracy: An Adventure of Fates and Fortune'
·
Published 2/25/2023Follow five courageous, bold hobbits as they pursue an unknowable truth and titanic stakes in order to save their beloved Andyrena from a formidable conspiracy threatening its very existence.
The three moons were in alignment again. The nights of the new moon were fleeting, but their influence was felt throughout the land. Tonight was different, however. Tonight would be special.
Four hobbits sat around a table in a dark room, lit only by a few candles. They had been sitting there for hours now, waiting impatiently for something to happen. A fifth hobbit entered and approached the table, sitting down next to his friends. "Well?" said the first hobbit seated at the table, looking at him with an eager expression on his face.
"The Great Hall is empty," said the fifth one, shaking his head and smiling. "Everything looks normal."
The first hobbit sighed and looked at the other three, frustrated and annoyed that nothing had happened yet. "What time is it?"
"Almost midnight," said the fifth one in response. "We're running out of time!" he added as he began looking around nervously and tapping his fingers on the table impatiently.
"You've got to relax," said another hobbit as he put an arm on his friend's shoulder soothingly. "We're going to make it." He then turned towards the fourth hobbit at the table and asked: "Isn't that right?"
The fourth hobbit simply shrugged and said: "We'll see." He then stared at the second hobbit who had been mostly silent since they arrived at this location earlier that evening. He could tell that he wasn't nearly as confident as his friends who seemed convinced that they were going to pull off tonight's mission successfully. The fourth hobbit understood his friend's apprehension; after all, he himself was also nervous about what they were planning to do, but he put on a brave front for his friends, who needed someone to remain steadfast and reliable when things started getting rough for them along their journey together.
The fourth hobbit knew that there was no turning back from what they were doing now. They had gone too far for that; there was no way they could return to Andyrena without fulfilling their objective of breaking open the cellar door of Old Bilbo's house - the home of their beloved village leader and great-great-great grandfather - and stealing its contents which would eventually change their lives forever.
Well, steal might not have been the right word here; after all, Old Bilbo had given them permission to look through his belongings stored in his cellar as long as they didn't touch anything while they were down there examining them during daylight hours - or rather half-daylight hours because it always felt like night during those days when half of Andyrena was covered by shadows cast by two of the three moons shining brightly in a clear sky above them - so technically speaking they wouldn't be stealing anything if old Bilbo didn't mind them having those items after they stole them from him later in secret tonight by opening up that door which couldn't be opened unless Bofredo - a great gnome mage who lived in a nearby mountain cave - opened it for them using magical means because only he could unlock whatever mysterious magical lock kept it shut tight all these years without anyone knowing how to do it even though Old Bilbo himself wanted everyone to try unlocking it for themselves using any means necessary!
What did really matter was that despite what their ancestors' last will and testament actually stated, Old Bilbo did not care anymore about what should happen to those precious items once he died because he knew that no one would ever find them down there even if they searched high and low within Andyrena itself; hence why he gave four young hobbits permission to look through everything inside that dark cellar during daylight hours whenever they wished to do so...or at least whenever Old Bilbo wasn't outside waiting for people to come over to visit him each morning during breakfast time!
"What are we going to do if something goes wrong tonight?" asked one of his other friends who seemed very concerned about their plan failing due to some unforeseen event happening during or after they performed this daring burglary of sorts which required them sneaking into Old Bilbo's house through a window (which Bofredo made disappear every night) before making their way down into its cellar (which Bofredo also made lightless) where no one else besides Old Bilbo knew existed because no one ever saw anyone ever enter or leave through its main entrance located beneath its front porch unless it was nighttime!
