Spirited Conversations: William and Anna's Ethical Journey of Love

Anna, the beautiful girl with the brunette hair, blue eyes, and golden complexion. Anna, the one who always made fun of William for his love of engineering. The one who was always on William's case about how technology can't save us from climate change. And then there was Anna, not so long ago, who was always begging William to listen to her hypothesis on why our climate is changing.

William eventually gave in to Anna's request and listened intently to her ideas on global warming, but he didn't expect that she would be able to explain it better than some of the top scientists in the world. He found himself spending more time with her than anyone else at school, and soon he was falling in love with her.

"William?" She said softly while wiping off a tear from her eye. "We have to talk."

William put down his textbook and looked up at Anna; she couldn't look any sadder. He got up from where he was sitting on the bed and walked over to her, taking her hands into his own. "What is it, my love? What's wrong?" William asked tenderly and lovingly as he smiled with all his might up at Anna's tear-stained face.

Anna sniffed once before going into a coughing fit; when she finally caught her breath back, she said: "William... I'm leaving you." Her voice cracked as she spoke those words; she knew how much it would hurt him to hear them, but she had no choice but to say them. It felt like a stone was lodged deep in her throat as tears began to fall from her eyes uncontrollably.

William's smile quickly turned into a frown as shock took over his body; he stood there motionless, staring at Anna with blank eyes and a face that couldn't hide his pain. Anna wanted so badly to hug him close to her and never ever let go; she wanted him to know that she loved him so much that it hurt more than anything else in the world to leave him behind , but even though she wanted nothing more than that, she knew that if anyone ever finds out about their relationship they could both lose their jobs forever. If anyone ever finds out about their relationship... "Oh God..." William thought as he continued staring at Anna for what seemed like hours; he couldn't believe this was happening... He brought his hand up and covered his mouth as he shook his head slowly from side to side; it couldn't be true... It just couldn't be true...
