The King and His Watery Misfits

I can't believe it. My kingdom is in ruins and I am the only one who can save it. The sea has all but disappeared, leaving my people stranded on land. We need water more than air you know.

My name is King Tchessarus, and I am a merman. There are many other kingdoms, but we are the biggest and most powerful of them all. Our kingdom stretches as far as the eye can see. You could swim for days and never see the end of it. That was until now, when the cruel ocean disappeared overnight. Our people have been driven from their homes; many have perished at the hands of whatever force tore our great kingdom apart! I will get to the bottom of this!

I must make haste to find out who or what caused this desolation. It has to be someone with a terrible grudge against us to do this to us!

I have decided to assemble a team of warriors and the best divers in the kingdom. As we dive deeper into the depths, I hope that we come across some clues as to why this happened! Who knows, maybe we will discover something even bigger going on in this forsaken ocean.

We have made it past a few thousand feet now, and we have discovered nothing so far. No ships or bodies to speak of anyway. The last time we stopped for lunch was a little less than an hour ago, but we have no intention of stopping now. We must keep moving forward!

I feel that I should mention that there is no real order to our group here, other than myself being in front naturally leading the way, but everyone else seems to be just behind me following me without hesitation. Everyone seems to be fairly close to each other too and they seem to work well together despite their differences. We don't really bother with formalities and stuff like that, so don't expect any titles like "sir" or "my lady". If you want something from one of my team mates, simply ask them directly- they won't bite... much... Anyway, let me introduce you properly:

The first person right behind me is a giant squid named Mollie (or maybe Molly- she changes her name every couple weeks). She was part of our kingdom's special forces before these events took place and she is probably our best shot at getting through this alive if things go south (which they most definitely might). Her tentacles would be considered arms by most standards- she uses them for gripping onto hard surfaces underwater better than any human hands could ever accomplish- and her eyes are enormous compared to her body size; she can see in near pitch black conditions due to their size too! She also speaks English quite well for a squid; I admit that I've never asked her where she learned it from though...

Behind Mollie is Eelan (he goes by Elan or Eleon sometimes), another member of our elite forces (alongside Mollie) who also happens to be an electric eel! He doesn't really use his electric abilities unless he absolutely has too which is surprising considering how deadly they are... He says that he just wants to live his life normally without killing people all the time, but honestly I'm not sure how much longer he'll be doing that while working with us! After all, there's no telling what kind of trouble we'll run into down here...
