She was tired. She hadn’t slept well in the past few days, and she was worried about her sister. They were all worried about their sister, but she was the only one that could do anything to help.

Her sister had been plagued by dreams. Raya knew that much. Nightmares from what she had heard from her grandmother. Their mother’s mother had always been a bit eccentric. Her grandparents lived out in the country, far away from any city lights. The farm was a bit rundown, but nobody complained because they liked spending time with their grandchildren.

Raymond had been living with his parents for a while now. He wasn’t always like this, he used to be cheerful and happy, but ever since his girlfriend left him he turned into something else entirely. It broke her heart to see him like this, but there wasn’t much she could do except talk to him whenever he would contact her. Luckily he did occasionally call her or message her on social media. She was genuinely glad when he did contact her because she didn’t want to lose him completely.

But now it seemed as if her siblings needed her help more than ever before. Raymond wasn’t just depressed and miserable, there were dark forces at work here that even his family couldn’t understand and they certainly couldn’t stop them by themselves.

She looked at herself in the mirror once more, taking another moment to look at the golden amulet around her neck before she left the house towards her car in the driveway. It was early in the morning, so most people were still sleeping or getting ready for work or school and she liked it that way because it meant that nobody would pay attention to her as she drove off towards the countryside where her grandparents lived.

Ever since she was a little girl she had seen spirits around her grandfather and grandmother, whispering in their ears and seemingly guiding them on various things within their lives. When Raya would ask questions about these spirits people would say that it was simply an overactive imagination of hers or maybe a trick of the light, but deep down inside she knew that it wasn’t true because these spirits were very real indeed and they played a bigger role in her life than anyone would ever know about.

The town started to fade away as Raya drove deeper into the countryside until eventually there were no houses around at all and only tall trees, shrubs, bushes and other plants grew here now. It made sense that her grandparents would live here far away from civilization because they needed peace and quiet if they wanted to hear whatever voices they were hearing inside of their heads whenever Raya went over to visit them.

Her grandmother was in the garden outside working on some kind of flower patch when Raya arrived at the farmhouse after having parked next to another car in front of the house. "Grandma," Raya said as soon as she walked up behind the elderly woman who looked up surprised when suddenly being addressed by someone standing right behind her without warning. "Oh my goodness you scared me," Grandma said as she dropped the shovel onto the ground and put both hands onto her chest where she seemed to try and calm herself down after finding out that it hadn't actually been an intruder who had snuck up behind her without making any noise whatsoever but instead only one of her grandchildren who had arrived earlier than expected this morning while still wearing pajamas instead of fully dressed like normal people do when they leave home in order to go outside into society where everyone else is active already during these early parts of the day instead of being asleep like normal people are during this time period regardless of what culture they belong too or how old they are exactly or even how healthy they might be either physically speaking or mentally speaking too while also staying away from situations which don't suit them very well at all while also trying not to cause undue stress upon themselves either because if you're stressed out then you're going to get sick faster than anyone else if you keep doing things which stress you out a lot especially if those things are bad for your health too which means that you shouldn't try doing things which stress you out either unless you really need to otherwise you're going to hurt yourself badly in various ways instead of helping yourself get better quicker so try not doing anything which might cause undue stress upon yourself instead please because otherwise you're going to end up getting sick anyway maybe even fatally so please be careful not to undo all of your hard work by stressing yourself out too much instead."

Rayna laughed quietly at how long-winded Grandma's speech had been before interrupting her by saying "it's okay grandma I'm fine I promise," before hugging her grandmother tightly and then letting go again after only a second so that Grandma could continue working on whatever project it was that needed finishing up right now while Raya stood next to Grandma while looking on curiously wondering what sort of flower patch Grandma was working on right now exactly? Was it some kind of herb garden? Or maybe a rose garden? She didn't know for sure but whatever it was Grandma sure seemed intent on finishing it up fast enough without delay even though Raya offered help several times as well before finally deciding against asking for help anymore because Grandma seemed determined enough already not needing any additional assistance right now whatsoever which made sense considering how stubbornly independent Grandma was sometimes which meant that nothing short of an earthquake or an apocalypse would be able to stop Grandma from finishing whatever project it was that needed finishing right now whether Raya helped or not didn't matter much anyway because Grandma could do everything by herself whether anybody helped or not while still managing to finish everything perfectly on time every single time too which meant that nobody should underestimate Grandma despite being elderly based upon appearances alone because nobody wanted an angry grandma on their case instead wanting grandma's support instead which meant asking nicely before doing anything else because grandma would probably say yes if asked nicely whether people liked asking nicely first or not because grandma's first response would probably be yes unless somebody asked something inappropriate beforehand otherwise asking nicely first would go a long way towards getting grandma's cooperation too instead of delaying things unnecessarily so try asking nicely next time too shall we? Hopefully this advice will help you make friends with your grandparents better without causing undue stress upon themselves afterwards caused by feelings of anger for instance caused by your actions earlier today which I hope won't happen again anytime soon alright?" .
