"I don't understand why you always want to go to bars. I mean, we could just get a couple drinks at home, or a bottle of wine and hang out in the backyard, but you always want to go to some dingy bar and drink with strangers."

"It's not a matter of wanting to, it's a matter of needing to. If I don't let off some steam once a week I start getting headaches, and I just can't take having a headache while binging on chocolate; it makes me miserable. So I need this time away from everything else." Jennifer sighed as she said this as she resigned herself to walking into the dark cave that was The Vinegar House.

"Oh fine, but that doesn't explain why you have to sit at the bar. We could sit anywhere in here," Greg said somewhat exasperatedly as he followed Jennifer through the crowd towards an empty seat at the bar. As they made their way towards an empty stool Jennifer looked back over her shoulder at Greg. His 5'10 frame was still looking around curiously trying to take in all the details of the place. He had sandy blond hair and his blue eyes were scanning for threats. Greg was very cautious about things like this, ever since he had lost his job last year he had become much more suspicious of people who approached him and asked him questions. He had even refused a job offer because it sounded too good to be true and he didn't trust it.

"I have to sit at the bar because then I can see exactly where my beer is going and resting while I'm talking with you." She sat down and crossed her arms petulantly across her chest as she waited for Greg to decide if he was going to sit down or not. They had only been married for two months now, but already Jennifer was feeling like she wanted to be alone again most of the time; except when they went out together. She liked having Greg around while they worked on projects together or when they just sat and watched TV because he would ask questions that made her think about what she was doing or watching or whatever. He also had a sort of presence about him that helped keep unwanted people away from her which meant she didn't need to make any sudden movements or loud noises when someone got too close or too handsy with her. But these nights that they went out together were always different; it was almost like even though they were married they hadn't really bonded yet. Like they were still trying to figure each other out after all these years being friends first before deciding to get married so suddenly when his parents died in that car accident. It wasn't that there wasn't attraction between them, on the contrary there certainly was, but neither one of them knew how far either one of them wanted things between them to go sexually yet. Greg was probably afraid of doing something wrong in bed and causing another "breakup" like when he broke up with her seven years ago after he lost his virginity; something she hadn't told anyone about except for him, his best friend Michael, and Michael's girlfriend Bethany who spent three weeks staying with them after their break up helping them both work through what happened. Jennifer however just hadn't found anyone worth sleeping with since then; no one really measured up in her eyes until now anyway; besides, it wasn't like they were dating before they got married anyways so they shouldn't feel bad about waiting until things felt right between them sexually before taking that step together shouldn't they?

Greg finally decided he would sit down next to Jennifer but not facing her so instead he faced outwards towards the rest of the room scanning it for danger where ever he could see it. As soon as he sat down Jennifer grabbed his arm causing him to jump a little bit which caused her to giggle a little bit before saying "I thought you didn't want people getting too close?"

"That doesn't mean I want people sitting next us either." She turned around herself so that now she faced outwards towards everyone else as well with Greg's arm wrapped protectively around her waist on one side while hers encircled his neck on the other side pulling him closer so that their shoulders touched while their eyes scanned the room together looking for anyone who might cause trouble for them tonight. They came here almost every week now because Jennifer needed this time away from everything else; time where she could relax, talk with people and unwind from the stressors of everyday life without worrying about anything else happening outside this dingy bar with its dim lighting and cheap furniture; where nothing bad had ever happened despite its reputation and history of being an underground meeting place for criminals from many different walks of life over hundreds of years who used it as a hideout during times when things got too hot on their home turf elsewhere in town; where nothing bad should ever happen because there were cops everywhere who kept an eye on this place 24/7 due to its reputation although no one knew exactly why unless maybe something bad happened here once in awhile even though no one has ever been able to prove anything like that ever happened since all those cops started showing up today after today after today after today...
