Queer in Space: Ivo and Theomar's Burly Adventure

Ivo yawned, stretching his long arms. In the bed beside him, Theomar stirred and rolled over.

"Mmf," he grunted, then sighed and opened his eyes. "Morning."

"Morning," Ivo mumbled, rolling to face his lover. "Nice nap?"

Theomar nodded, smiling sleepily and sliding a hand up Ivo's arm. He gazed at him with affection. "You too? I'm glad we slept so well last night."

"Me too." Ivo leaned forward and kissed him gently on the lips. "I love you."

Theomar smiled wider and nuzzled his nose against Ivo's cheek. "Love you too." After a few moments he said, "So what shall we do today?"

"Well --" Ivo sat up, the blanket slipping off his body as he did so. He stretched again, arching his back and kicking his legs out in front of him.

He was suddenly soberly reminded that something had changed when his skin burst open at several points all along his torso, releasing dozens of fluttering creatures into the air like bloody butterflies. He gasped in shock as they fluttered around him for a moment, then dove out through the gaping holes in the ship's hull windows to freedom in space around them.

Ivo slowly turned to look at Theomar for confirmation that he had seen what just happened; a wide-eyed look of horror on his face told him everything he needed to know. His lover was as dumbstruck as he was himself; both men stared forward in frozen silence for a long moment until Theomar finally managed to speak.

"It's an emergency!" he shouted, scrambling off the bed and starting toward the main console by the door where they kept their communicators. "We need to get to one of the escape pods now!" He threw open the door and dashed away down the hall without looking back at Ivo.
