Whisper of the Wise One

It was a hot summer day. The sun was high in the sky, and the air was still and heavy with heat. Not a breeze stirred the leaves on the trees, and even the birds seemed to have taken refuge from the scorching weather.
In a small village near the edge of a forest, in a house made of straw and mud, lived a family of pigs. Their names were Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and their three children - Peppa Pig, George Pig, and Baby Pig.
Inside their small house, it was unbearably hot. The pigs were all lying on the floor trying to stay cool but getting hotter by the minute.
Mummy Pig let out a tiny sigh. "I can't take this heat much longer," she said.
Daddy Pig grunted in agreement. "It's too hot to do anything," he said.
Peppa looked up from where she was lying on the floor. "But we need something to do," she said. "I'm bored."
George nodded his head in agreement. "Bored," he said.
Just then, they heard a noise coming from outside. It sounded like someone singing in a high-pitched voice.
The pigs got up and went to look out of their front door to see what was going on.
Outside their house stood Mr Wolf – their next-door neighbor who lived alone in a brick house – wearing sunglasses and holding an ice cream cone.
Mr Wolf smiled at them through his sunglasses. "I scream for ice cream!" he sang happily.
The pigs watched as Mr Wolf took a bite of his ice cream and let out a contented sigh.
Mummy pig turned to her husband with an idea forming in her mind. She had seen enough!
"Maybe we should go into town to get some ice creams ourselves," she suggested.
Daddy pig thought about it for a moment before replying. "But it's so hot," he said. "Wouldn't it be better to stay here in the shade?"
Mummy pig shook her head. "I think it would be worth it to get out of this house and enjoy something cold and refreshing," she said.
Peppa and George nodded their heads in agreement. They were tired of being stuck inside their hot house and liked the idea of going into town for ice cream.
Daddy pig sighed. He didn't really want to leave the coolness of the shade, but he could see that his family was eager for a treat.
"All right," he said with a smile, "let's go into town for ice cream."
The pigs got up from where they had been lying on the floor and went to get ready to go into town.
Mummy pig helped Peppa and George put on their shoes while Daddy pig found some hats for them all to wear to protect them from the sun.
Once they were all dressed and ready, they set off on the short walk from their house into town.
When they arrived, they went straight to Mr Wolf's ice cream cart.
Mr Wolf smiled at them as they approached. "Good afternoon," he said cheerfully. "What can I get you?"
The pigs looked at all the different flavors of ice cream on offer before making their choices.
Mummy pig chose strawberry ice cream, Daddy pig chose vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, Peppa chose bubblegum flavor (her absolute favorite), and George chose chocolate chip cookie dough flavor (also his favorite).
Mr Wolf handed each member of the pig family their chosen ice creams with a smile. He then gave a small bowl with one scoop of vanilla (his personal favorite) as a treat for Baby Pig.
As the pigs enjoyed their delicious ice creams, a cool breeze suddenly blew through the town, causing leaves to rustle in the trees and bringing with it a welcome relief from the heat.
The pigs sighed happily and smiled at each other. It seemed as though the cool breeze was a sign that their decision to come into town for ice cream had been the right one.
They finished their ice creams and made their way back home, feeling much cooler and happier than before.
That evening, as they all settled down for bed, Mummy pig thanked Daddy pig for agreeing to go into town for ice cream.
Daddy pig smiled and gave her a kiss. "I'm glad we went," he said. "It was definitely worth it to see how happy it made our children."
Mummy pig nodded in agreement. "Yes," she said. "Sometimes, it's the little things like ice cream that can make a big difference in our lives."
And with that, they all closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of delicious ice creams and cool breezes on hot summer days.
