"Hey, Ben, can I talk to you for a second?" Olivia called out to her younger brother from the hallway.

"Yeah, sure, Liv. What's up?" Ben replied, looking up from his homework.

Olivia walked into Ben's room and closed the door behind her. She took a deep breath and looked at her brother with a serious expression on her face.

"I need to ask you something, and I want you to be completely honest with me, okay?" she said.

Ben nodded and put his pen down, sensing that his sister was about to have a serious conversation with him.

"Okay," Olivia began. "Do you think of me as your sister or as a woman?"

Ben's eyes widened in surprise at the question. He hadn't expected his sister to ask him something like that.

"Um... I guess I think of you as my sister. Why do you ask?"

Olivia sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Well, it's just that I've been thinking a lot lately, and I feel like we've never really had a chance to get to know each other as adults. I mean, you were just a kid when I moved out for college, and now that I'm back, I still feel like we have this... I don't know, this sibling relationship that's holding us back from being closer."

Ben furrowed his brow, trying to understand what his sister was getting at. "I don't understand. Are you saying you want to be more than just my sister?"

Olivia nodded, her cheeks turning slightly pink. "Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I want to be more than just your sister. I want to be your friend, your confidante... maybe even something more than that."

Ben's eyes widened in shock at his sister's confession. "Wait, are you saying that you have romantic feelings for me? Like, you want to be in a relationship with me?"

Olivia nodded, her cheeks turning an even deeper shade of pink. "Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I know it's probably wrong, and I don't know how you feel about it, but I just had to tell you how I feel. I can't keep it a secret any longer."

Ben's mind was racing as he tried to process his sister's words. He had never even considered the idea of being in a relationship with his sister, and now that she had brought it up, he wasn't sure how he felt about it.

"I... I don't know what to say," he finally managed to stammer out. "I mean, I've never thought of you that way before, and I'm not sure if I can just change the way I see you all of a sudden."

Olivia nodded, her face falling at her brother's words. "I understand. It was probably stupid of me to think that we could just suddenly be in a relationship after all these years. I'm sorry for putting you in this awkward position."

Ben got up from his desk and walked over to his sister, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't be sorry. It's not your fault. It's just... a lot to take in, you know? But I promise that I'll think about it and try to see things from your perspective. And who knows? Maybe we can find a way to make this work."

Olivia looked up at her brother with tears in her eyes and gave him a small smile. "Thank you, Ben. That means more to me than you'll ever know."

Ben gave his sister's shoulder a reassuring squeeze and smiled back at her. "No problem, Liv. We're family, and family sticks together no matter what. So let's figure this out together, okay?"

Olivia nodded and wiped away her tears. "Okay, let's figure this out together."

And with that, the two siblings shared a smile and a hug, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
