Dreams Alive: Habib's Tale

Habib was born in poverty, in the middle eastern lands in the 16th century. Habib had a loving family, but his parents were frugal, and life in the region was not easy. Habib dreamed of achieving something beyond the life he had been handed, and with solid determination and hard work, he managed to make something of himself.

But as his fortunes improved, Habib found that luck, tragedy and romance all make up life's rich tapestry. On one such journey of hope, he met a mysterious woman, who filled him with wonder and with whom he felt a strangely familiar connection he had never known before. Driven by destiny and captivated by Beauty, Habib embraced the new life with her.

Through his newfound lover, he experienced deeper understanding of himself and joys he had never felt before. As their relationship grew and evolved, so did Habib's knowledge of the world and its duality. Drenched in hot and steamy romance, he found fleeting sadness and sudden beauty all around him, emanating from his own turbulent emotions.

But Habib knew life was this ever-changing kaleidoscope of experiences, and he had no control over what his future held. Unknowingly, he was headed towards an intensifying climax. On his final night, as Habib strayed beneath signs of a familiar storm, he felt his fate momentarily pause as he acknowledged his story thus far, and all its experiences, feeling grateful and weighted by the experiences that had stored up in his heart. He turned his face to the wind and removed his wet hat, soggy from the rain, and felt a profound sensation sweep over him as he understood true joy is found only in the present.

The story ends. Habib had no need for an epilogue. His leaden heart full of new knowledge, he looks forward to making the best of whatever comes his way in life. Even his past, sodden hat in hand, he faced the storm with courage.
