The first thing I saw was a bunch of tiny white things floating in the water. I remember that they were like snowflakes and they had a beautiful little red dot in the middle. The waves pushed them closer to shore and I looked around to see if someone else was with me.

I then remembered that my friends Jenna, Abaly and Leon went exploring the house where the ghost was supposed to be. I started to panic when I realized that I was all alone in the forest because we were all told not to go there.

I looked at my watch and realized it was almost dark, so I decided to try and find my way back to the cabin, but as soon as I started walking, a giant wave came crashing down on me. After struggling against its force for a few minutes, I finally managed to make it up on land. As soon as I got my breathing back under control, another wave came crashing down on me again. This time I fell into even deeper waters, but luckily the current brought me back close to shore. When I tried getting out of the water, another wave pushed me back into it again until there were no more waves pushing me back out any longer. What can only be described as an underwater earthquake sent rocks and sand flying everywhere while several trees along with a few people flew past me lifting me up with them. A tree with almost half a dozen screaming people grabbed hold of me and threw us all onto the beach next to each other, but the tree and one girl were dead instantly when their heads hit the rocks surrounding us. Then something long and brown popped out of the water dragging two more people behind it before disappearing again.

By this point there were only three of us left alive: Jenna, Abaly and myself. "We need to get out of here!" Jenna yelled as she dragged Abaly's body behind her through the forest until we collapsed near some bushes. We sat there for what seemed like hours before someone walked by our hiding spot carrying a shotgun at shoulder height. He stopped within five feet from us and started looking around nervously."What's going on?" he asked himself quietly before continuing his search for whatever he was looking for. After seeing him walk away safely, Jenna managed to drag both of us over to his cabin, where we saw another person who seemed just as terrified as we did. We hid behind a wardrobe while they talked about who knows what before going outside again leaving their door unlocked behind them."Why don't we just leave?" Jenna whispered."Because we need food," Abaly replied."True," Jenna replied before standing up slowly with her hands raised in front of her face."They're gone," Abaly said when she opened her eyes."Great," Jenna replied as we all ran towards the fridge that was just across from us."We need to get moving again," Abaly said after taking some food."Why?" Jenna asked."Because someone is coming.""How do you know that?" Jenna asked while eating a meatball sub."Because they're talking about food right now," Abaly replied while staring at one of their radios."Ok," Jenna replied after swallowing her last bite."Let's go," I said while opening their front door."Wait!" Jenna yelled as she ran over to one of their televisions and picked it up by its power cord."Why would you want that?" Abaly asked."So we can see what's happening outside," Jenna replied after turning it on."But how will we be able to hear anything? It doesn't have any speakers attached.""We'll just turn it up really loud if we have to," Jenna replied as she pulled open their window curtains revealing that night had arrived already."Are you sure about this?" I asked nervously."Yes," she replied after putting their TV on top of one of their tables so that it faced outwards towards where most of the windows were located in their cabin."All clear!" she yelled after checking outside once more before pointing at an island which could barely be seen through all the smoke being produced by whatever was burning in front of it."That's where they are.""Who are they?" Abaly asked while pointing at three men dressed in full gear who walked past us calmly followed by dozens more towards wherever they needed to go next.""The people who saved us earlier today," Jenna replied while pointing at them once more as they disappeared behind a hill nearby.""Wait! Where's Leon?""He must have been taken by those monsters at sea..."Abaly said sadly while burying her head into my arm pit which made me start crying too because he was always so nice towards everyone...

We sat in silence, our hearts heavy with the loss of our friend. Leon, who had always been the positive and caring one among us, was gone. Taken by whatever lurked in the depths of the sea. The realization struck us hard, and it added another layer of fear to the already haunting atmosphere around us.

Jenna wiped away a tear, her eyes brimming with resolve. "We can't stay here, not with those creatures nearby," she said, her voice filled with determination. "We have to find a way out of this nightmare."

I nodded in agreement, my mind racing with possibilities. "But how do we escape? We're in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by darkness and unknown dangers."

Abaly, still nestled against me, looked up. Her eyes gleamed with a flicker of hope. "Remember the man we saw earlier? The one with the shotgun?"

"Yes," I replied, a glimmer of anticipation igniting within me. "He seemed like he knew something. Maybe he can guide us or help us find a way out."

Jenna's gaze intensified as a plan formed in her mind. "We need to find him. He might have answers, or at the very least, some sort of protection to face whatever lies ahead."

We rose from our hiding spot, the excitement mixed with trepidation. The path we would take was uncertain, but we knew we had to venture out into the unknown. Cautiously, we stepped out of the cabin, keeping an eye out for any signs of danger.

Night had descended, shrouding the forest in an eerie darkness. Only the faint glow of the moon managed to pierce through the dense canopy of trees. The air weighed heavy with an otherworldly stillness, broken only by the distant echoes of nameless creatures lurking in the distance.

"We must move quietly," Jenna whispered, her voice barely above a breath. "We don't want to draw attention to ourselves."

With each step, the forest seemed to close in on us, the branches reaching out like bony fingers, ready to ensnare us. We followed the path that the man had taken earlier, hoping to catch up with him or at least trace his footsteps to a place of safety.

As we moved deeper into the woods, the tension grew palpable. Every snap of a twig or rustle of leaves sent a wave of paranoia through us. Each moment felt like an eternity, as if time itself was stretching, drawing out our fear. But we pressed on, our determination overriding the fear that threatened to consume us.

Eventually, the forest cleared, revealing a small clearing bathed in the soft glow of moonlight. In the center stood a dilapidated shack, its wooden exterior weathered and worn by time. A faint flickering of light emanated from within, drawing us closer.

When we reached the door, we hesitated, unsure of what awaited us inside. But the urgency of our situation pushed us forward. I pushed open the creaking door, and the three of us entered cautiously.

Inside, we found the man from earlier, hunched over a table, surrounded by scattered maps and various tools. He looked up, his eyes narrowing as he assessed us.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, his voice laced with suspicion.

"We need your help," Jenna said, her voice steady but pleading. "We're trapped in this nightmare, and we don't know how to escape."

The man eyed us for a moment, his expression softening. "I see that same fear in your eyes that I once saw in mine," he said, his voice now filled with regret. "I thought I could find a way out, but I've been stuck here just like you."

Our hopes wavered, but the man continued. "However, I might have a plan. A way to break free from this cursed place."

We listened intently as he shared his knowledge, revealing an ancient ritual that could open a portal back to our world. It involved collecting specific items and aligning them under the light of a rare moon.

"We don't have much time," he warned. "The next celestial event is happening soon. We must gather the items and perform the ritual before it's too late."

A surge of determination coursed through us as we set out on our quest, guided by the man's instructions and armed with newfound hope. Together, we scoured the forest, venturing into dangerous territories, overcoming challenges and obstacles in our path.

The journey was perilous, pushing us to our limits both physically and emotionally. But we pressed on, unwilling to let fear or despair overpower us. We faced treacherous creatures, navigated treacherous landscapes, and battle our own doubts, all for the chance to escape this nightmare.

Finally, as the rare moon hung high in the sky, we gathered at the designated location, the items carefully arranged under its ethereal light. The air crackled with an otherworldly energy as we chanted the incantation passed down through generations.

In an instant, a brilliant surge of light enveloped us, blinding and disorienting. And when it faded, we found ourselves standing on the familiar shores of the beach where our adventure had begun.

We had returned.

Exhilaration and relief washed over us as we embraced the reality of our escape. The horrors we had faced, the losses we had endured, all felt like distant memories, faded scars etched upon our souls.

But as we stood on the beach, our eyes gazing upon the vast expanse of the ocean, a newfound understanding settled upon us. We were forever changed by our encounter, marked by the darkness that had threatened to consume us.

And as we began our journey back to civilization, we knew that the bonds we had formed, the strength we had discovered within ourselves, would carry us through whatever challenges awaited us in the future. Our lives may have been forever altered, but we would face the unknown with courage, resilience, and the unyielding belief that, no matter the darkness, there was always light to guide us.
