“Squad, check in.” Ang sat on the edge of his cot, gripping his halo-emitter.

Through his mind’s eye, he could see each of his squad members: the twins, Shem and Ham. They were two great bears of men who had been hardened by years of resistance fighting.

Next was Aja, an extremely talented marksman with a long history of military service.

And finally, there was Captain Ram, who had been a member of the Seeker Council before joining their side. He was a small man with keen insight into human psychology.

Satisfied that all was well, Ang stood and walked over to the window to gaze out at the city below. The Resistance Headquarters was a sprawling fortress carved into the side of an enormous mountain range. The icy world below him would have been inhospitable to any sane person but it was home to his fellow rebels. They had endured brutal winters and fought back against the Seekers for decades. Now they were one step away from victory. Ang knew that if they could just find the headquarters, they could deal a crippling blow to their enemy.

And yet… something didn’t feel right to Ang… he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong here…

Suddenly, the alarm sounded throughout the building!

His halo-emitter began flashing red!

Ang gripped it in his left hand and ran towards his office while pulling out his pistol with his right hand! His squad members were shouting as they raced to catch up with him!
