"So, we're agreed?"

"What do you mean?"

The pair sat in a small diner, twiddling their thumbs and trying to look as inconspicuous as possible. The place was empty save for the two of them, and the waitress serving them. She had kind eyes that matched her soft smile. Her nametag read 'Jenny'.

"About what we've gotta do once we get to Denver."

Ranboo sighed, and took off his glasses. He placed them down on the table, and rubbed his eyes exhaustedly. He looked up at his friend, and frowned. "Why are we even doing this, TB? It's just not worth it."

Tubbo stared at his friend with a blank expression, and then continued staring straight ahead. "Because it is."

"Because of some stupid video game?" Ranboo asked incredulously. "You want us to go all the way across America because of some game that looks like it was made by a bunch of fucking five year olds? Do you have any idea how insane that sounds?"

Tubbo answered him without averting his gaze from the window. His face was unreadable. "It's important to me, Ranboo."

Ranboo sighed again in exasperation, and shook his head slowly, before looking back at Jenny who was still serving them. She gave him another warm smile. "Can I get you guys anything else?" she asked politely. Both men shook their heads silently, before she walked away from the table with a polite nod of her head. As soon as she left, Ranboo turned to Tubbo again and spoke through gritted teeth. "It's not just some stupid game."

Tubbo finally tore his eyes away from the window, and looked at Ranboo with an equally annoyed expression on his face. "Fine then," he said defensively. "It's my fucking life story."

Ranboo raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Your life story? What does some idiot fantasy game have to do with your life story?"
