There was a boy and there was a girl. They both lived in the same town, they went to the same school, they ate at the same restaurant, and they even worked at the same place. They knew each other for years but never spoke a word to each other.

There were some rumors that they were soulmates but nobody really believed it. Soulmates were myths. It was just something people said because they couldn't say "I love you" to the person they actually fell in love with.

The boy was the son of two merchants, and since he was small, he had to clean houses for money so his parents could eat. He had black hair and blue eyes, and his name was Renzo. The girl was the daughter of a noble family that chose not to accept more power or influence in their region, so her family could live a peaceful life away from politics and war. She had red hair and brown eyes, and her name was Lucia. She did not know how she had found out about Renzo, but one day she started noticing him everywhere she went, and she liked him. So she started following him around secretly until one day when he left with no explanation in the middle of the night while everyone else slept, taking nothing with him but his clothes and some bread.

Lucia followed him outside their village and into the forest where she found him sitting down near a river, drinking water from the river like an animal would drink it. When he noticed her, he looked up at her with such sadness that it made her cry. He got up quickly and ran away from her as fast as he could, but she caught up with him after only two minutes because she was running barefoot on grass instead of running on stones like he did, making his feet bleed as he ran deeper into the forest.

When they finally stopped, they were deep in the forest far away from everyone else. When Lucia tried to talk to him, he just shook his head no at her without stopping walking until he fell down on his knees right on top of some rocks hidden under leaves near a small waterfall that created a small pool of water below it. This idyllic spot seemed perfect for them to rest under the trees surrounding them with their heavy green leaves full of birds singing around them, creating such a wonderful sound that you could believe in heaven if only for those few moments where time seemed frozen.

Lucia looked worriedly at Renzo who had fallen asleep immediately after falling on top of those dangerous rocks covered with sharp edges and waited patiently for morning when she could go back to their village alone because she knew already what kind of punishment awaited them if someone saw them together in this forbidden place.

But morning never came because before dawn broke through, Lucia woke up because Renzo's body felt cold against hers, so she quickly moved closer to warm him up while rubbing warm water against his face until he opened his eyes, looking confusedly at her while trying not to move too much because of all the sharp stones covering his body, hurting him in so many places and making blood slowly run down his arms, legs, back, chest, face... everywhere. "Are you okay?" Lucia asked worriedly, trying not to cry for fear that if he saw her crying then he would start crying too. So instead, she started kissing him everywhere where there was no blood just so that he forgot about all this pain fast enough for neither of them to feel sad anymore.

"What happened?" Lucia asked again after kissing his nose all over, making sure none of those sharp stones cut their lips accidentally. "We're banished," Renzo whispered sadly while looking at Lucia, knowing how much pain this meant for her too. "What? Why?" "Because I am poor," Renzo said simply.

"Oh," Lucia whispered, now understanding why no one loved them despite being so close and spending years together without ever saying anything important. They simply looked at each other's eyes and smiling secretly whenever no one else saw before going back home, smiling secretly once again just by looking at each other's eyes, showing each other silently how much they liked seeing each other every day without having ever talked once before today.

"So are we going somewhere together now?" Lucia asked excitedly, looking happy suddenly because maybe life had made things hard for them, but now they could just be together without hiding away anymore. "No," Renzo said sadly, shaking his head, "you go home alone." "Why?" Lucia cried angrily, even though she knew already why no one allows poor people to date rich people, but why did this mean that tomorrow Renzo would be dead or worse? If only someone would pay attention to all this happiness in front of them!

"Because I am ashamed now," Renzo sighed sadly, looking ashamed himself, "but I'll always love you." "No! You can't leave me alone!" Lucia screamed loudly, shaking him violently until finally giving up, trying
