Elsie sat on a park bench, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of her friend. She had been waiting for what felt like forever, and impatience was starting to set in. The sun beat down on her, making her regret not bringing a hat or some sunscreen.

Just as she was about to give up and go home, she spotted a flash of purple out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head and saw Horret walking towards her, a smile on her face.

"Sorry I'm late," Horret said as she approached the bench. "I got caught up at work."

"It's fine," Elsie replied with a smile. "I haven't been waiting that long."

Horret took a seat next to Elsie, causing the bench to creak under their combined weight. She ran a hand through her purple hair and let out a contented sigh.

"It's such a nice day," Horret said, looking up at the clear blue sky. "I'm glad we decided to meet here."

"Yeah, me too," Elsie replied, unable to tear her eyes away from Horret's vibrant purple locks. "Your hair looks amazing, by the way."

Horret blushed and looked down at her lap. "Thanks," she mumbled shyly. "I just dyed it this morning."

"I love it," Elsie said sincerely. "It suits you."

A comfortable silence settled between them as they enjoyed each other's company. Elsie couldn't help but feel drawn to Horret; there was something about her that made Elsie's heart race and butterflies flutter in her stomach.

After a few minutes, Horret broke the silence with a small cough.

"So... um... I've been meaning to ask you something," she said nervously.

"What is it?" Elsie asked eagerly.

Horret took a deep breath and looked into Elsie's eyes. "Do you... want to be my girlfriend?"

Elsie's heart skipped a beat, and her face flushed bright red. She had been hoping for this moment ever since she first laid eyes on Horret.

"Yes!" Elsie exclaimed without hesitation. "I would love to be your girlfriend."

A smile spread across Horret's face, and she leaned in to give Elsie a gentle kiss on the cheek.

"I'm glad," she said softly. "I've had a crush on you for so long."

Elsie felt like she was floating on air as she reached out and took Horret's hand in hers. She couldn't believe that this beautiful girl with the purple hair and the mesmerizing eyes wanted to be with her.

As they sat there, hand in hand, Elsie knew that this was the start of something incredible. She didn't know what the future held, but as long as she had Horret by her side, she knew that everything would be okay.
