The train clattered on its tracks. The wheels, like a swinging pendulum, struck the metal rails as it sped across the countryside. It was July 4th and the weather was warm, even for the summertime.

Mrs. Morgan's eyes were glued to the view from her window seat. Her hand rested on her daughter's shoulder as she took in the scenery that passed by outside. Lindsey looked up at her mother and smiled, "I haven't been home in so long."

"I know my love," Mrs. Morgan said quietly, "I'm glad we're here together." She hugged Lindsey closer to her side and began singing a song that she once sang when Lindsey was just a baby, "Old McDonald had a farm..."

Lindsey giggled and clapped her hands happily as they reached their destination. Mrs. Morgan picked up the small rolling suitcase at her feet and looked back at Lindsey who was still seated in her wheelchair. "Shall we go?"

Lindsey nodded and Mrs. Morgan helped her out of the train car with only a little pushing needed on her behalf to get them to the door at the end of the car. A man stepped forward to take their tickets and waited for them to head through before he closed the door after them.

The platform was bustling with people; some were families like theirs while others were alone like them or young couples holding hands with each other while they waited for their turn to board their train this sunny Saturday morning. The pair made their way down the platform, weaving their way through a crowd of excited passengers talking about where they were going and what they planned to do over the weekend.

They stopped near what looked like a ticket booth that had an arrow pointing in one direction towards a set of doors and another sign that read 'EXIT' written in big white letters on top of it. Mrs. Morgan turned around and asked Lindsey, "Which way?"

"That way," Lindsey pointed towards the exit sign that was placed next to some old wooden doors, "Mommy said our house is on this street."

"Okay," Mrs. Morgan replied as she started rolling Lindsey's chair through one of the open doors and onto the sidewalk outside, "Let's go then!"

When they got out of the station building and into the sun, both women shielded their eyes against its brightness as they looked around at their surroundings. The sidewalks were full of people walking by them towards wherever it was they wanted to go while other cars drove past them along parked cars lining either side of the street ahead of them which cut through rows upon rows of tall trees on either side of it which seemed to stretch beyond where they could see them into eternity away from where they stood right now looking up at them.

The warm sunlight welcomed them as they stepped foot in the bustling town during this annual American holiday known as Independence Day or Fourth of July. This day meant a lot to Americans who cherished freedom above all else. Mrs. Morgan herself embraced the spirit of the day, donning a red dress adorned with white stars, despite being born in England. America was indeed a unique place filled with endless opportunities and possibilities.

The two of them ventured forward, navigating through the lively streets as people celebrated the special day. Occasionally, they caught snippets of conversations about the many different ways in which people chose to celebrate, reflecting on America's diverse nature. Regardless of how everyone decided to mark the occasion, unity and freedom were the common themes shared amongst all citizens.

Their journey through the town continued, passing by various shops, parks, and rows of houses as the sun glinted on Lindsey's wheelchair. From children learning valuable lessons from adults to the importance of questioning authority and thinking critically, it was evident that life in America came with both its challenges and moments of growth.

As they made their way to their destination beneath the vast, cloudless sky, they were reminded of the importance of embracing life and making the most out of every opportunity that came their way. With open hearts and minds, they ventured forth, ready to begin a new chapter of their lives together in this vibrant land of freedom and promise.
