Destined Sands: The Echoes of Delthar
·
Published 6/25/2023In a vast and treacherous galaxy, where love and brilliance collide, a formidable genius and his endless interpreter from the desert planet of Delthar form an unbreakable bond as they strive to survive the encroaching forces of the Valeen, sparking a battle not just for their lives, but for the creation of a heart-filled utopia that will revolutionize the cosmos—can they build a future where no heart is left untouched?

The castle walls were tall and strong, but their job was unnecessary. The Vaelen had no intention of invading any more planets. They wanted to live peacefully, to build their own society without the interference of the Delthar. The Delthar were a kind and loving people, though they treated everyone else as inferior.
"Are you sure this is safe?" Serena said, nervously looking over the wall at all of the angry Vaelen guards pacing below them. "Won't they notice us?"
"Of course it's safe." Jacob pushed Serena away from the wall and down onto the ground. "You're a little paranoid for someone who likes to get up close and personal with me." He winked at her.
Serena rolled her eyes at him. She knew he wasn't being serious, but what he said was true. If she couldn't even stand on top of a wall watching thousands of angry aliens stare back at her, how would she be able to perform in bed? She knew that he enjoyed it when she got a little rough with him, but she didn't want it to go too far. At least not yet anyway.
"Let's just hurry up and get inside the castle so we can find out if they have anything to help us."
"I'm sure they do." Jacob reached out his hand and pulled her up next to him on top of the wall.
They both ran across the top towards one of the many small doors that led into the castle grounds from above. They had already checked each door before climbing up here, but there was still no guarantee that anyone was home inside of the castle itself. They had arrived yesterday evening just as it started to rain, and for some reason most people chose to stay indoors during rainstorms.
The door creaked loudly as they opened it, but luckily no one seemed to hear them enter the building through its basement level entrance. They moved silently and quickly through several dark rooms filled with old furniture until finally opening an ornate wooden door into a large room decorated with deep red carpeting and golden candelabras all along the walls. The candles had been lit however and shone brightly throughout the room illuminating all sorts of strange paintings on the walls with unfamiliar symbols all around them. One painting in particular caught their attention - it depicted a beautiful woman sitting on a throne surrounded by clouds with a sword in her hand and a book in front of her face. But as odd as this picture was, even stranger than that was that in front of this picture stood two life sized statues made entirely out of gold - one woman by herself holding a sword high above her head like she was about to strike down an enemy, and one man lying down clutching his head in agony like he had just been struck down by something huge and heavy.
Jacob walked over to investigate these statues closer while Serena went to investigate a desk against one wall piled high with books written in languages neither of them could read or understand. After staring at one statue for a few minutes, Jacob turned away from it feeling very confused about what this had meant or who these people were supposed to be or why they were buried underground in what seemed like an empty house full of strange paintings instead of being buried in some place where they could be properly honored after death like everyone else he had ever known before now. He looked back over at Serena who was still digging through piles of papers on the desk trying desperately to find anything important amongst them while also trying desperately not to look suspicious doing so because they'd only have one chance to leave without alarming anyone inside this castle alive enough to care anymore about whatever might be going on in here tonight; either way, if either one failed at their task then this entire mission would be pointless since his death would inevitably lead directly back to hers since dead men don't talk and if nothing else in this world he knew for certain that he'd rather die than let himself be captured alive again by those awful Valeen bastards ever again because then he'd never see Serena again...
After rummaging through the papers on the desk, Serena finally struck gold. She discovered a faded map with intricate markings and directions scribbled on it. It seemed to be a treasure map leading to an unknown location beyond the castle walls. Eager to uncover the secrets hidden within, she quickly folded the map and slid it into her pocket, glancing over at Jacob with a mischievous grin.
"What's got you so excited?" Jacob asked, intrigued by the sudden change in Serena's demeanor.
"I found something," Serena whispered, pulling out the map and unfolding it for Jacob to see.
Jacob's eyes widened as he examined the detailed markings on the map. "This...this could be it," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "The key to unraveling the mysteries of this castle, the Vaelen, and the Delthar."
An overwhelming curiosity electrified the air as Serena and Jacob locked eyes, their determination fueling each other's resolve. They both knew that this map held the potential for answers they had sought for so long. Answers about the true history of these war-torn planets and their people. Answers that could change everything and rewrite the narratives of their lives.
"We need to follow this map," Serena said with conviction. "It could lead us to the truth we've been searching for and pave the way to a brighter future for both our species."
Jacob nodded solemnly, his gaze shifting from the map to Serena. "We must tread carefully and be prepared for whatever lies ahead. This journey may expose us to unimaginable danger, but if it means bringing an end to this senseless conflict, then I will gladly face any trial."
Together, Serena and Jacob devised a plan to venture beyond the castle walls. They gathered provisions, weapons, and any useful information they could find before setting out. With each step, they felt the weight of their responsibility to the Vaelen and the Delthar, burdened with the hope that they could bridge the divide between their peoples and bring about peace.
As they ventured into the unfamiliar terrain guided by the map's coordinates, the path twisted and turned, leading them deeper into a dense forest. The air grew heavy with anticipation, and a sense of foreboding pressed upon their hearts. But their resolve did not waver. They pressed on, driven by the pursuit of truth and unity.
Days turned into weeks as they encountered various obstacles along their journey. They faced treacherous cliffs, unforgiving weather, and encounters with hostile creatures. But through it all, Serena and Jacob relied on their unwavering bond and the shared goal that bound their souls together. They supported each other, providing strength when doubt threatened to creep in, and finding solace in the warmth of their love.
Finally, after enduring hardships and overcoming countless challenges, they arrived at their destination—an ancient temple concealed within the heart of a forgotten valley. Its towering pillars and intricate carvings told the stories of a forgotten era, and the air crackled with an otherworldly energy.
As Serena and Jacob stepped into the temple's sanctum, an ethereal light bathed them, casting a radiant glow upon their faces. The room hummed with power and possibility, as if eager to reveal the answers they sought. On an altar at the center of the room, they found a worn-out book. Its pages whispered secrets of the past, tales of forbidden love and betrayal, and the long-lost history of the Vaelen and the Delthar.
With trembling hands, Serena and Jacob opened the book, their eyes scanning the pages hungrily. The truth unfolded before them, weaving a tale that shook the foundations of their beliefs. But as they delved deeper, they realized that the destiny of their people rested in their hands. They were the catalysts for change, the embodiment of a love that surpassed tradition and prejudice.
Armed with newfound knowledge and a fierce determination, Serena and Jacob emerged from the temple, ready to confront their respective leaders and challenge the status quo. Together, they would pave a path towards peace, healing the wounds of a fractured society and uniting their people under a shared vision of harmony and understanding.
As the sun set behind them, casting a golden hue upon the world, Serena and Jacob clasped hands, their spirits intertwining with a powerful sense of purpose. With the weight of history and the echoes of their ancestors guiding them, they embarked on a new journey—one that would redefine not only their lives but the very essence of the worlds they called home.
