The house loomed before us, casting a large shadow over the ground beneath it. There was no going back now.

“We have to get out of here before they find us,” Jill hissed, her eyes looking frantic. “That chef is creepy and I don’t want to be anywhere near him.”

I nodded, my heart beating wildly in my chest. “Yeah, he seems like he could be psychotic or something.”

Quinn gulped nervously as we all stood there, looking at the house. “Do you think we should go with Tyler? I mean, he’s been here for a few days now and he hasn’t died yet so… I mean maybe it’s not so bad.”

Jill hissed angrily at Quinn, her eyes darkening angrily. “He might not have died yet but he’s still in there! And even if it wasn’t that creepy chef guy or whatever his name is we still gotta get out of here because those other guys are going to catch us one way or another!”

I swallowed hard and nodded again. “Yeah, let’s just try to get through this quick and then we can run away from them forever and ever and never have to deal with them again. Okay?”

Quinn nodded quickly and Jill sighed in agreement. We turned our collective attention towards the stone door in the center of the house where Tyler had gone moments before. His bag was still sitting on the ground next to us, surrounded by a bunch of bags I didn’t recognize. One of them seemed like it belonged to Tyler though, because I remembered seeing him with it when he first ran off into the kitchen of the house. The other bags looked like they contained food, but I couldn't be sure about that.

So many questions swirled around in my head, but I tried to push them aside since there wasn't any time to waste anymore. It was now or never; either we got out of here on our own, or else we would be stuck in this house until those guys came back for us. I took a deep breath, pushed open the door leading into the kitchen area, stepped inside first with Jill following closely behind me, and Quinn came in last after pushing past us both.

In the kitchen, Quinn immediately started opening up all the cabinets in search of something important enough for her to take with her when she left this place for good later on today. We had to hurry and leave this place as fast as possible before they caught up with us again, which wouldn't be good because they would probably just end up bringing us right back here again.

While we tried to avoid getting caught by that creepy chef guy who lived somewhere else on this property, his intentions remained unclear. At times, he seemed like he wanted us dead, but he also seemed capable of being nice, which made things confusing. How could I tell whether or not someone was going to kill me if sometimes they didn't seem like they wanted me dead at all?
