The team was gathered, in one of the conference rooms. It was almost lunch time and everyone was hungry.

“Wow, we’ve been at this for a long time!”

said Nicole, who sat down on the table, her feet in Andr's lap.

She was always late for meetings and couldn't be bothered to walk those ten meters to her chair. Most people would not have thought twice about it, but Andr loved that about her.

He looked up from her feet and smiled across the table at David and Hélène. They were good friends, and he had known them for a long time now. They all worked in the same department, at the same office. They liked each other, they even loved each other. He had spent many nights with his colleagues at home or on weekends out of town. They were like family to him; they had grown close over the years. And yet... something was different today. As he looked at Nicole's wrinkled toes and tender soles, he felt a warmth spread through his body that he hadn't felt before. It was intimate and exciting at the same time.

Nicole sighed contentedly as he started massaging her feet with his hands - a little more roughly than usual perhaps - but she didn't seem to mind it, so he continued. Eventually, his hands wandered lower onto her ankles and shins where he squeezed gently and rubbed them softly with his thumbs. That's when he noticed that she wasn't wearing any socks! He licked his lips involuntarily as he looked up again to see if anyone had noticed what he was doing, but no one seemed to care; they were all busy talking among themselves about work stuff while they waited for the meeting to start.

He could go further...

Andr turned back to Nicole's feet now and absentmindedly took one of her bare feet into his mouth as though it was an ordinary thing to do! She giggled softly as she pulled it out again playfully.

He knew that she wouldn't mind if he went further than this innocent licking of her feet, but how far would she let him go? And would anyone notice? The tablecloth was long enough so that nobody could see what they were doing under it unless they were looking directly down at their laps... but then again: there weren't many things people didn't notice at this office! Strange things happened there all the time: unexpected romances flared up between colleagues every week; colleagues got married after just a few months of knowing each other; people did drugs openly at lunch time; and so on... But this new development with Nicole might be hard to explain!

There had been some talk about Andr's feelings for Nicole over the last few weeks by those who knew them well enough... but no women ever took him seriously when he expressed interest in them outside of work! So why should it be different with Nicole? Sure: she did seem attracted to him too sometimes; she flirted with him when she thought no one else noticed - as though she wanted him to make a move... but did she want him just because she liked him or because they were colleagues? Would it be different if they weren't working together? Would anybody stand for that kind of relationship nowadays? Workplace romances had become taboo in recent years, hadn't they? At least that's what people said... He remembered times when more people seemed open-minded about such things! Maybe there was still hope for him and Nicole after all!
