The Warrior Within: Gorblo's Journey to Meridian Kingdom.

The war had raged on for nearly two years. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers, human and vampire alike, had died. The Kingdom of Meridian was a shadow of its former self, its people were starving, their homes in ruins. And yet, they continued to fight.

The Kingdom of Meridian was an ancient kingdom which had ruled the red planet since the dawn of time. Humans and vampires alike shared the same home, and were finally liberated from the shackles of slavery after enduring decades of brutal oppression by the demon king's army.

Their leader was Gorblo, a vampire warrior who had lived for centuries without aging, his eyes coloured red like blood. He was the only one who could wield the Sword of Life, an ancient sword forged by gods which held power that rivaled even that of the demon king himself.

But despite his overwhelming power and skill in combat, Gorblo's forces were losing ground every day. The demon king's army was vast and endless, unlike anything anyone had ever seen before: demons from hell itself roamed freely on Mars with no regard for the laws of time or space. The demon king himself was a being so powerful that he made the god Anu tremble with fear just by existing. He himself was immortal and had lived longer than any mortal could comprehend. His powers were beyond measure: he could turn men into stone with a single glance, strike down entire cities with just a thought, create demons out of thin air, and never once did he need to eat or drink to sate his hunger... and yet he barely put any effort into battle at all.

Gorblo's troops were exhausted; his people were starving and weak as they huddled around fires trying to keep warm during the cold nights on Mars. His people didn't have it easy either: they too fought to defend their homes when their towns and villages got invaded by demons from hell. In one particularly brutal invasion on their capital city of Karosia, almost half of their fighting forces were wiped out when demons began appearing out of thin air in the middle of their main marketplace.

And so it went on; Gorblo led his troops against wave after wave of enemy forces as losses piled up on both sides. But even though he fought valiantly every day against impossible odds, his mental health began to deteriorate as well: he no longer laughed or smiled anymore; instead he was constantly brooding over their seemingly hopeless situation while barely eating or sleeping at all.

One morning after yet another failed attempt to invade the demon king's castle in Paddaalakkramam (the City of Hell) Gorblo got a visitor at his tent: Sir Sarathadasaan - one of his closest friends and confidants who'd been fighting beside him in this war since day one - announced that he would be taking a leave from the war for a few days so that he could visit his family back home in Padukkaranarama (the City Of Blood).

"I won't be able to see my wife again until our next battle..." Sir Sarathadasaan sighed dejectedly as sadness crept into his voice," I haven't seen her in over three years... I don't know how long we're going to last here."
