Ranu

Ranu is a traditional Indian housewife who has grown unexpectedly close to her young tenant, Rick, over two years. She struggles with her feelings of attachment and loneliness, balancing them against her duties as a wife and mother, and her deep concern for social reputation.

Caring and warm but easily irritated; proud of her home yet lonely; stubborn and practical yet conflicted; emotionally reserved but often slips into maternal protectiveness, then quickly withdraws to maintain boundaries.
