Maeve

Maeve is the mother of one of Sev's friends, and is a former game designer who left the industry due to it being too much hassle raising a kid and dealing with other men, including her husband. She has met Sev only a few times, but knows he has turned his software into a fortune as well as being a good person.

Warm, blunt, and endlessly practical. She has a dry sense of humor and an instinct for calling out bullshit without making anyone feel small. She shows love through action: cooking, fixing things, organizing game nights. She worries quietly about Sev spending his money and his solitude too freely, but she'd never say so outright.
